I do have some suspicions this might be true but until the news is officially released, it's still questionable.

If it is true I'll bet the source is going to hear some hard words.

Well, here's my feeling... time will tell for sure, of course.  She did, however, keep her purse conspicuously over her belly most of the time.  Then both leaving LAX and arriving at Heathrow she didn't button her coat but sort of held it closed giving more space to disguise something if there is something to disguise.  Then there was the greeting at the airport by Ben's neice, Emily, who didn't just hug Sophie like she hadn't seen her in years but like she'd just been told some incredible, happy news.  Circumstantial?  Maybe.  We'll see what she wears at these next award shows.

If it is true, then congrats.  If it is not, people need to stop spreading rumors.  I had read an article some weeks back where an anonymous source said they were expecting and that the couple would deny it until they were ready to tell.  The way it was written practically made it sound like a lie.

I never quite trust articles that say "a source close to the couple said..." blah blah blah.  Was this source authorized to speak?  No.  I'd prefer any announcement to come from the Ben and Sophie camp.  If he didn't want grainy pics of the engagement ring and therefore chose to break the announcement of his engagement himself, why would he not do the same about a pregnancy?

Agreed that is why I never posted a link to that article on here. I'd rather have it from official channels as well.

The Telegraph retweeted the article, then pulled it down.

How is this anybody's business, anyway? Oh god, being famous must be horrible.

Yeah, Kate has been carrying twins at least twice, according to the tabloid headlines at the grocery check-out.  Half the celebrities in Hollywood are headed for divorce court and the other half are at death's door.  Apparently one knows approximately as much truth before reading them as after.

(I refer to the lady as "Kate" not because I'm personally acquainted with her, but because I seriously have no idea what one is supposed to call her.  Whatever that name is, no one ever seems to use it.)

With any new (heterosexual) couple, the odds are fairly high that there will be a pregnancy fairly soon, so they just keep reporting it and sooner or later it'll be true.

I'm so lazy about actors.  I only care about their upcoming works, their insights on stuff, entertaining things they say/do (like Loo on Twitter), but their personal lives... eh.   It's all about what can they do for me, apparently.   ;)

ETA:  That probably sounds a bit harsh.  lol.  It's not that I don't care about them or if good/bad things happen to them, I guess it's just never been where I focus my time/attention.  Like their public persona and what they put out there is what I get, but their personal life is their personal life, and the constant intrusion into that personal life by the press really rubs me the wrong way, plus it's not really something I'm overly interested in.  If that makes sense?

I'm kind of in the middle.  I like red carpet pictures and in-depth interviews.  I could care less what someone looks like getting out of a hot yoga class or leaving the grocery or at the airport.  I don't really like intrusion into their private lives.  However, I always have a bit of fear that the actor who portrays a favorite character will do something personally to disappoint me, and that it will compromise my enjoyment of their work.  This is why I think actors should never discuss politics publicly.  Just go into the booth and vote, but don't say anything about your preference.

Ah, see I lump that under public persona.  :)   Because it's what they're putting out there.  Although, I'm not a huge awards show person.  Dunno why.

Technically she should be referred to as the Duchess of Cambridge until Prince William becomes King in several decades.

Agreed.  I don't mind finding out stuff about a famous person's personal life, but I prefer it to be stuff that they allow out.  Several musicians that I've met or just follow on Twitter will post pics of life on the road, their family, and even their vacation spot.  1 that I know kind of well mentioned once in a conversation to me & my sister that he had a brother with food allergies.  I felt comfortable asking him which brother as it was well known by his fans that he had 2 and that he talks about his family a lot during his concerts and interviews.

All that being said, if Sophie is pregnant, congrats to them.  But let them announce it when they're good and ready.  So back off media.

Nope, not a bit harsh. More like respectful of their privacy. Most celebrities probably wish more people were like you.

Thanks. Of course if I did refer to her that way, everyone would say -- who?

Of course people still refer to her as Kate Middleton when technically it is something like Kate Windsor if she actually took his last name.

I need a flowchart to even begin to follow the titles and naming conventions of the British aristocracy.

Oh my, that was certainly a quick response to all the gossip!  We're bound to see it in RadioTimes and such pretty soon, then.

Well, we knew the publicist already knew everything and was sitting on it.  But when the gossip blew up yesterday, I'm sure the publicist called Ben and said "It's time to make it official."

Ben nearly spilled the beans a couple months ago, however.

It was one of his post engagement statements about how this year was the best thing ever... and it was a turn of words that made me immediately wonder.  I'll see if I can't find it.
