I would expect something along the lines of a traditional wedding just based on what Benedict has said so far. He seems the type who would try to do that as much as possible.

Traditional and as much under the media radar as possible.

Yes, very much so. I'm hoping he (they) releases a nice pic of the 2 of them on their wedding day.

And this is how you know your Sherlock obsession is bad - when you want wedding pics of the actor!  LOL  Yep, I hope we get at least one!

You know you're Sherlock obsession is bad (or maybe this time Benedict obsession) when you go off talking about Benedict's upcoming wedding with mild speculation about timing and details.

Another sign of a bad obsession: You & a fellow Sherlockian almost single-handedly make a new thread a hot topic the day it is created.

Well, when there's no real Sherlock news, a little fluffy speculation passes the time. :)

But of course, then we analyze how close we were with our speculations once we get news that confirms, denies, or otherwise sheds some light on what we were thinking and alter our speculations accordingly with even more analyzation during the process. :D

One of the guys at work has Stayin Alive as his ringtone,  (he has no idea!) and all I think about when it goes off is the pool scene.

Nothing like hearing that song and thinking of Sherlock instead of John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever.

the pool scene or Bart's rooftop are all I'll think of anymore when I hear that music.

I had my son get his hair cut today to get ready for The Hobbit movie so that it would be closer to hobbit length since it is nearly perfect hobbit hair when it is the right length (Pippin more so than Bilbo or the other hobbits).  I asked my friend if she had ever watched Sherlock knowing she doesn't watch a lot of TV because of her schedule.  She hadn't but she knew the actor I was talking about as she pulled out the copy of Time Magazine that Benedict is on the cover of.  (I then opened it up to the picture of the Enigma Machine as I told her about it and The Imitation Game).  She likes his hair and we did discuss curly/wavy hair issues (hers is curlier than mine) and his hair length in Sherlock compared to the Time pictures.

The gal who cuts our hair is a Sherlock fan, so we have lots to chat about while she's snipping.

When I was in customs at Heathrow, the customs gal said she didn't care for Sherlock - she preferred CSI.  I was ready for a knock-down drag out right there!!!  LOL.  not really, but I was a bit horrified.  Sacreligious!!!!

I find Sherlock to be more intelligent than a lot of other crime shows, not that the others lack intelligence in general. There's just something about Sherlock that piques my brain in that area that other crime shows miss.

How about this for an obsession that might be better classified as British TV shows in general obsession: mentioning your NaNoWriMo novel that you are about to read an excerpt from is inspired by Sherlock, Doctor Who, and the Tomorrow People. Yes that happened tonight.

It's just all around more intelligent.  In fact, I was watching a bit of some US crime show and I was about to go out of my skin just because the camera work was so static.  I was ready to scream, "Move the camera!!!"  You'll see in Sherlock, especially the later episodes that the camera is almost never still.  They do some very interesting camera work.

Yes there is definitely some interesting camera shots in Sherlock. I especially like when the camera angle moves but everyone is in a freeze frame otherwise. I have always found that interesting. I've even seen some where 1 person is moving during that process.

There are also times when the camera does a vertical 360 and I'm wondering... what kind of camera is doing that?

It would be fun to sit down with some of the crew for technical behind the scenes of Sherlock where we could learn how certain things are done such as the camera shots we mentioned.

These are just not the questions that other TV shows prompt you into asking.

So true.

You know your Sherlock obsession is bad when you want a behind-the scenes on Sherlock that is just the technical aspects of the show: how they did the filming, cameras/techniques used, etc. (yes I realize we get a little bit of that in the commentary, but it's not the same as the actual head of crew telling us [episode director & director of photography]).

And I wanna learn how to edit in some of those fantastic scene transitions, you know?
