With some of the recent episode discussions, I'm wanting to go back to re-watch the particular episodes just to catch the nuance in how a line is said or something that may have been missed in a scene and am just about ready to have a Sherlock marathon watching party because of it.

Or a Sherlock quote for everything... Seriously, between Sherlock and Calvin and Hobbes I think I've got all possible situations covered.

It's official, I'm tentatively planning a Sherlock marathon for 12/20. Too much good discussion lately on nuances in some of the episodes. Every episode in about 13.5 hours plus breaks, pauses & rewinds. So it might take me closer to 15 hours.

You know your obsession is bad when you read your browser tabs and get the following that you posted in the funny Sherlock Pics thread.

As my browser was loading, I actually read the tabs for once and thought a few were mildly amusing. Enjoy :)

You ask the barista if she likes Sherlock because you notice the maps app on your phone brought itself up & is at St. Bart's. She says yes & you proceed to show her which building in the complex was used for the jump plus tell her that the forum exists.

I knew my Sherlock obsession was really bad when I began to associate the songs on one of my CDs with the series. But honestly, it could be a kind of soundtrack. Take these lyrics, for example:

"...I'm high above the ground now
I ended up here somehow
reaching for something else

If I fall, will you be there, when I come to my senses
If I fall, will I fade away alone
If I fall, will the demons or the angels take me..."

It's not exactly a big leap to think of Sherlock when you hear that, is it?

You bring up Sherlock & this forum during your missions committee meeting at church.

So how did you manage to work that in?  lol

I forget how it actually went but it fit perfectly with over analyzing & extended discussion of a topic.

You quote a paper in your most recent scientific publication to no small extent because its author's name is Sherlock, which allows you to say 'according to Sherlock, ...'

Probably one of the songs I associate most with Sherlock is "The Strength to Go On" by Rise Against.

You claim "it's fine"
But the heart reveals
What smiles betray
Your sad sad eyes gave you away...

Oh, and also "Ready to Fall" by the same band.

Now I'm standing on the rooftop ready to fall
I think I'm at the edge now but I could be wrong
I'm standing on the rooftop ready to fall

I count the times that I've been sorry
(I know, I know)
Now my compassion slowly drowns
(I know, I know)

If there's a time these walls could guard you
(I know, I know)
Then let that time be right now..

I will be interested to hear your impression of his character with all the episodes seen so closely together.

Okay... here's a totally personal "you know your Sherlock obsession is bad when..." - When you buy the book "Sherlock Chronicles," knowing that you just have to put it into storage because you can't carry it on your bike journeys (although I am currently set up with some temporary housing for the winter).  Haven't yet bought a 2015 Sherlock calendar.. but I'm tempted to.

Oh, and here's another one... it's bad when you start seeing Sherlock things everywhere that aren't even Sherlock... like checking out of PetSmart yesterday and looking at the dog name tag samples... and one of them said MOLLY.  Had to take a picture of that.

I marathoned episodes 1.3-3.3 the first Saturday in August so this won't be much of a stretch. It's a matter of seeing some of the stuff recently mentioned in some of the episode threads & getting my take on it.

I've done a 4-episode marathon.  Not sure I could do all 9.

this wil be my first with all 9 (plus the minisode) in 1 day.

Oooh, exactly. The coffee machine at work is a fancy digital apparatus and it tells you it's 'deducting' after you've msde your choice. That always gives me private giggles.

You & your sister meet a fellow NaNoWriMo person to hear Celtic music to find out she is a WhoLockian & you show her the forum via your phone that she might eventually join.

1. When the first thing you do after waking up is to check this forum

2. You actually make formal vest for your dog, complete with fake pocket-watch  :lol2:

Imagine the Grey's Anatomy people only getting the airtime equivalent of 4.5 hrs of episodes every 2 years.  Gah!
