When you realize that you have to keep your obsession to yourself because your friends haven't seen the show...and even if they have seen it, they haven't SEEN it, so you can't hold a discussion with them anyhow.

When you are disappointed with your friends because they haven't SEEN it.  :P

This happened to me before, but yesterday, I wanted to say something at my workplace, and I did it in English. Have to limit my Sherlock input - when I start to act on impulse quoting him... girl_impossible.gif

When you make a facial expression when you are alone without a mirror and it reminds you of 1 of Sherlock's expressions even if you know it won't look even close to how Benedict does it.

They do see, they just don't observe!

And IS that the type of gun Sherlock pulls out of his pocket?

And IS that the type of gun Sherlock pulls out of his pocket?

I don't know for sure. However, I suspect that Moriarty would know that sort of thing for whatever reason. He's a master criminal.

According to Sherlockology, it's not:

When Moriarty asked "Is that a British Army L9A1 in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?" A man with the deduction reasoning of Sherlock Holmes should instead have pointed out "WRONG. It's a L106A1".

We'll put it down to script versus reality, but the gun John Watson carries is not a Browning L9A1, the former standard issue sidearm of the British Army, but a Sig Sauer P226R, British Army equipment designation L106A1, issued to soldiers serving in Afghanistan.

So apparently Sherlock has simply "borrowed" John's gun again.

Well, Sherlock doesn't own a gun.  But he happily trots out John's gun whenever the need suits him.

Talk to Moffat and Gatiss.  They have a remarkable gun obsession in Sherlock.  Guns everywhere.

If you're talking about the gun photo being double-posted, Bev, that was apparently just Jenny's "Post" button being stubborn (I have hidden the extra).  Or maybe you knew that and were teasing her.  *sigh*  It'd be so nice if we could hear each other's vocal tones and see each other's eyebrows!

In any case, we obsess over details -- that's why we're on this forum.  And guns are just one of the details.

When you're watching a training video (posted on YouTube) on another website and the video suggestions after the video is done contain stuff related to Benedict Cumberbatch (ok so it might be more of a BC obsession as none of it was Sherlock)

When the line is blurred between BC obsession and Sherlock obsession.

Here's a Sherlock painting...

I'm glad he added those splats at the end, that painting was going nowhere without them.

You know you're obsessed when you can paint a likeness of Benedict Cumberbatch without even looking at him.

You know you're obsessed when you're striving to be able to do that! :P

You know you're obsessed when you see on FB:

"Leave me, so I can cry over the deaths of fictional characters!"

And think of all of us on here and the emotional feels that Moftiss put us through every season.
