When you're thinking of taking up oil/acrylic painting again just because you have an idea for a Sherlock-themed painting.

There is one fairly close to me.  Need to go over and price things.  I'm starting from scratch.

I have a jacket for outdoors that is quite baggy and has a cape. After a while it spent in my garage, now it is back "home" and hangs on a hook at my door. Today as I saw it I realized it resembled Sherlock's junkie-jacket. For a split second I had a feeling of movie reality leaking into mine.

Is this bad? vala_04.gif

You need a reason? Go thou and buy a kit! :D

Oh ... and save yourself a bundle, buy online. Cheap Joe's, ASW, Dick Blick, Jerry's, Plaza Arts ... way below retail, and if you hunt around you can usually find one that's offering a good deal on flat rate shipping.

Altho Plaza storefronts also do a pretty good job of going below regular retail a lot of the time, if they have those out your way.

I need to start sketching out some Sherlocky ideas....

... when you grin at every easter bunny you see and expect it to glow.

But seriously, I was driving behind a car that had a white plush bunny on the rear shelf. Bluebell! screamed my brain smilej.gif

I drove a while behind this car with thbiggrin_gold.gif on my face.

...when it's raining, it's pouring, and you settle down wrapped up warm to watch The Priory School, and the name of the abducted boy, Lord Saltire, immediately brings to mind the flags of Scotland and Jamaica, alongside the story of the abducted children in The Fall.

... when you order The Imitation Game right alongside your second copy of the complete Jeremy Brett series, and you already own the Imitation Game courtesy of the Weinstein Company!

Honestly, Botonand Arcadia might understand: in IELTS (two new classes, mornings and evenings, and a GRE ) you use "Are you paying attention", with any tag question at the end, and figuratively hug it to your inmost thoughts or pat yourself in the back, because your tone of voice needs to command their attention, but you can hear Benedict speaking, clearly enunciating every syllable! In class he  has become invaluable, I am just like Golum, he is MY precious for the duration, may God bless him!

You know, I'm very careful about using affirmative kinds of correction in my class discussion; things like, "not quite, but let's take your idea in a different direction."

Partly this is because I think it's good pedagogy.  Partly it's because it stops me from saying, "Nope!" with a big pop on the "p."

:D I've always popped my "p"s. Just now when I do it, I feel pretentious.

And I feel like a (much) old(er) landlady using Ooh-ooh!

... which of course I used before. It just sounded differently.

When you start researching Bach's Partita #1 and find there are 8 of them.... and you wonder which one was Moriarty referring to?

No, it certainly doesn't. :D

When you finally make it onto this site after a week of wifi trouble and schoolwork and being in that kind of mood* and feel relieved because there is a place that exists in the world where you don't have to look at people and people will take you seriously despite your age.

*you know, that mood where just looking at people/being looked at pisses you off

When many word of day entries on dictionary.com remind you of Sherlock in some way, shape, or form.

Posted

When you are responding to someone on your blog and wonder if your wording is bit like Sherlock's (particularly S1), a touch flippant and "don't state the obvious".

Posted

...when you constantly have to hold back Sherlock quotes because nobody would understand them. For example, I was asked the other day how I coped with having to make so many sacrifices for my job, and I nearly said "all that matters is the work - without that, my brain rots". I remembered just in the nick of time that the person I was talking to does not speak English and has never heard of Sherlock. The same day, someone noticed my wedding ring and made me feel just like Molly, even though I neither am nor ever was in love with him.

It's good I don't have goals. But I have an idea of another version of the pic above. evilgrin.gif

Still, I can relate to the situation. My other interests have fallen into this big hole.
