Yup, it's on my list. Caught a bit of first episode, but technical issue delays it, hopefully I get it settle soon, and also find time. Had couple of day off and back to work soon.

A lot of shows remind us of Sherlock, sometimes I can't really differentiate if it's obvious or I just imagine it because I am obsessed with Sherlock.

The cleverness wears off pretty quickly in LIE TO ME.  Also easy to spot who done it even though you don't know why.

So, do you recommend it? I could save the time for something else if you think it's not worth it.

Anyway, I'm quite pissed that they took out Sherlock from the in-flight entertainment, and it's European airline FFS. Have been regularly catching them since SIP, last month they showed TSoT and I was hoping to get HLV or TAB. But none, NONE! Wipe it all, GONE! No more Sherlock. Where is TAB? They have other new movies. (Well I have them on my phone but this has nothing to do with it, right? right? :P)

Weird, I miss Sherlock like I miss a real person.

I recommend the first several episodes just for a sampling.  After that it's up to you.

...when you watch The Night Manager and each time the story comes back to the MI6 Headquarter (River House - what a romantic name for it) you expect Mycroft lurking behind each corner.

... and you "see" props from Sherlock everywhere, and take screenshots to check them out (thy are not, btw, but there are two actors instead)

When you still watch The Night Manager because it gives you little glimpses into British secret service, even if you know that it's only a movie and hardly factual.

And you don't even like those kind of movies.

And you aren't a Hiddles fan. At all.

But the story is quite good, I have to admit. And it's well done too.

Glad you're enjoying it.  The previews make it look like something I'd not normally watch, but I'll probably give it a shot b/c... Hiddles.

It's all a part of the conspiracy...    ;)

I don't even know if you can stil call it a Sherlock obsession...

... when you go all icon_flirt3.gif about a picture of a gay couple (you actually don't know), being happy about a prize (you acturally don't give a beep about) one of them won for a supporting role in a play you haven't even seen.

Note to self:

Find the play. Read it. Even if 3 Days... is an adaptation of A Month in the Country (or something like that), you will find it somewhere.

Preferably not in Russian.

Or maybe even that.

Your Russian needs some refreshment.

There is huge fandom in Russia - so it makes perfect sense.

Ahem...

Is that even a Sherlock obsession or just a Mark Gatiss obsession?   ;)

Kind of Sherlock-and-the-huge-and-still-growing-circle-it-etched-into-my-reality obsession.

Okay, okay, MG obsession, but it's all because of Sherlock! :P

Who needs mandalas?

The mind palace - colouring book. XD

... when you have to fight a sudden urge to do a research on Dr Strange shoes, to prove to yourself, that you are indeed seeing an Asics logo on one of the soles. Gosh. It's getting worse. krank6.gif

Oh no, not the shoes again!!!!!  help-crazy-rabbit-emoticon.gif

That's what happens when your obsession meets your job. I'm not an expert on the sport shoes themselves (how inconvenient!) but I'm putting their images into ads for 15 years, so I immediately get this I've seen this before!-alert in my head.

But we never discussed the shoes of DS, did we? *smiles innocently*

I'm not into shoes or care about them, but I sign up just because it tortures Arcadia. :)

I want to say I envy you, but my brush with Sherlock at work was when we had a project related to BBC and my boss talked about Sherlock a bit and recommended it, I didn't know anything about Sherlock that time. Too bad there is no follow up on that project. My work is not related to anything obvious that has connection to BBC though. :P

JP, I assume you use some sort of software to create your designs? May I ask which one/s? I'm wondering if there's a decent alternative to Photoshop.

Posted

You mean the T-shirts?
The designs are mostly made in Adobe Illustrator, sometimes mixed with Photoshop.
(have old versions at home and new at work, which is often very handy :D)

Posted

In other words, if there is an alternative, you don't use it. :d

I'm concerned that Adobe is moving everything to an online service for which I would have to pay a monthly fee; I simply don't do enough with Photoshop Elements to warrant that kind of cost. But when I do need something, I need something fairly sophisticated; unlike, say, Picasa. So I'm trembling in my boots that Elements will be the next thing to become "cloud only." I'm still trying to figure out how to replace PageMaker!

You can probably use the older versions for a longer time, there are still valid older software sold on Ebay, but they are still not cheap.

Apple together with Adobe make EVERYTHING to beep off their more "serious" customers: the pros needing the software for work. It's getting worse and worse. You get beeping translucent menues, beachballs etc, but with each update (that you are forced to do) you get new problems. Form over function... sorry, form without function... :comp:

As for alternatives: if you work with a software every day, trying something different is incredibly frustrating.
