This is it, folks.  This is what a hiatus reduces us to.  Overexcitement at the prospect of photos of Sherlock cast at a non-Sherlock event.

Rumors of Martin and Amanda spotted too...

Is there something like overexcitement?

Maybe not in an emoticon on here but in real life, yes.

Nice to see they dressed up for the occasion... :p

OK, so they're having the press event because the preview performances are done and this is the official opening night, right?  Since it's only 8:30 in London now, I take it the press thing preceded the actual performance?

That's my understanding, Carol. That it's because the preview performances are over. There's also a private party tonight after the performance.

Maybe it was a matinee?  Though that would seem odd, on a weeknight.

I notice everyone has consistently applauded the set.

One thing is for certain, I hope Dad has engaged a British nurse and nanny, because otherwise young Master Cumberbatch will speak his first words in another language, with all this circus going on, poor baby!

Oh, I think it will be either poor Yorick or to be or not to be. :D

Daily Mail has an extended overview of reviews. The opinions about the production and the rest of the cast seem to be rather mixed. I don't want to go too deep into the reviews, as I'd like to have some "free space" in my mind to have my own impressions.

BTW can someone explain this sentence:

Mr Cumberbatch, for all the knee-squeezing of his fans [...] deserves to be taken seriously.

No, that is a new one to me! I assume we are supposed to be squeezing our knees together to keep from wetting ourselves with excitement?
