Note that the question is not which female characters are the best looking or the sexiest or any other supposedly unbiased description.  I'm looking for biased!  Who makes your knees wobble (in a good way!) or makes you pretend to cough (to disguise a whimper)?  Who would you be most tempted to flirt right back at?  Who would you find it hardest to resist a come-on from?  You can select a first, second, and third choice.

Persons of all genders and sexual orientations are invited to participate, and if gals aren't exactly your thing, you're allowed to use your imagination.  No one will be able to see how you voted, so if you want us to know, feel free to post your choices.

And if I've absent-mindedly omitted any recurring female characters (i.e., ones who appeared in at least two episodes), please let me know.

Wow. That's a lot harder, since gals, as you say, aren't exactly my thing. I had to think who I would most enjoy just hanging around with. Sooooo..... Mary (as long as she leaves the @^ gun at home), Sarah, and I think probably Sally. I love Molly for what she represents, but I think in person I would find her too needy.

Like I said in the male poll, however you want to interpret it -- just as long as it's your own personal feelings, and as close to a "crush" as you can manage.

I just realized I should have included not-Anthea (Mycroft's assistant), so I have now added her.  If you've already voted for someone else but would have voted for not-Anthea (or if you've changed your mind for any reason), just click the Delete My Vote button at the bottom of the poll area and vote all over again.

For me it was also a who would I like to hang with for the ladies.  And that was tough as I wouldn't mind hanging with most of them.  But for the slight attraction to hang with It was Molly, Mary, then Irene with Janine a close 4th.  Irene and Janine would be fun for the fashion stuff [i'm slowly working on being a little less Molly (not including her Christmas dress from ASiB) in my dress and a little more along the lines of Irene (the white dress) and Janine (the dress & sweater before she leaves 221B)].  I'm so much like Molly that we could have fun talking Sherlock while she showed me what she did at work.  With Mary it would just be an adventure.

Well, that's a no-brainer! Irene Adler of course - duhhhh. :P But seriously, she's hot. I find her utterly believable as a woman who manages to have an affair with both partners of one couple and who gets royalty to pay through the nose for her company. She's also clever (and I have never yet to date found a stupid person attractive. Nice, yes. Lovable, yes. Attractive, no. Brainy is sexy, and no, Irene, that fact is not new), funny and audacious. She's not cheap in any way, and that aura of danger surrounding her doesn't hurt, either. Her voice is a big factor as well.

Not that I'd go anywhere near people like Irene in real life! I'm way too much of a coward and a security freak for that. I admire her the way I do big snakes - from a safe distance.

I'm interpreting this pair of polls roughly as the old advertising joke:  "be me or do me."  So, while I voted for the guys I was attracted to in some way, I voted for the gals that I most want to be.

Irene (clothing, confidence, manner)

Janine (ability to laugh and not take crud from someone like Sherlock)

Mary (mad skillz -- I wish I had her aim!)

1. Irene, well, for obvious reasons. Hehe...  dat riding crop tho

2. Molly, because she's so adorable and I kinda want to cuddle her. And she can stand her ground now, unlike in S1.

3. Mary, 'cause she's a crackshot. Crackshots are fabulous! (*coughcough*johnwatson*coughcough*)

all these people are almost three times my age like why am i attracted to them

all these british people are so pretty. they must've weeded out all the ugly people and put them on the ships to the New World, and that's why i don't find as many americans attractive

unfortunately I may have to agree with you...

I love all the small print replies ;)

My son is proof that some people came over to the new world not ugly (and yes I realize the comment was a generality and possibly even a little in jest).  He's got the handsome blend from the British Isles from both his dad and I (plus all of the other ethnic backgrounds we have).

Irene Adler. Not turned on in the romantic/sexual way but wasting that kind of talent is anathema in my book. Think about what kind of things can be obtained by working with a skilled person like that. :P Not forgetting to keep special bullet for that brain because I trust her only as far as I can throw her, which is not very far.

Since we had listed the guys in rank order, I decided to see how the ladies ranked both total vote count (labeled normal on my chart below) and weighted (1st choice =3, 2nd choice =2, 3rd choice =1)

Name:                        Normal     Weighted

Irene                             8                19

Mary                             6                10

Janine                           3                  7

Molly                            2                   5

Sarah                           2                   3

Sally                            2                   2

Anthea                         1                   2

Mummy Holmes            0                  0

Mrs. Hudson                 0                   0

I think Irene's the most attractive but Janine and Mary are the ones I could be friends with. So there's my list.

I went with...

Irene (because I like a little violence)

Mary (because I like a little danger)

Janine (because she made me laugh)

If we are explaining our votes, mine go to Irene because if I had different chromosomes, she would be a construct to phantasise about,

Janine for all her fearless attitude to life ( including dealing with two geniuses and apparently taking everything in her stride,) and Molly, dear mousy Molly, for her moral principles and her constancy! It would be great the world over if men found their other half in practical, understanding Molly-Hooper-like women. The world might be a better place to live in!

Most definitely not Mary! Former Mrs Smith assassins and manipulative, scheming females should be eliminated, expunged, exterminated, excised from the Holmes series!

Posted

:p Irene also belong to the manipulative & scheming females, exterminate her too.

Beauty is only skin deep; I prefer those with brain, dignity and audacity to forge their own way in life.

Nope, nope, nope! Irene always works from a position of insecurity to protect her interests, and, at least, she doesn't shoot people in the chest when she is cornered. Use her riding crop OK, use Mary's firearm, and not just to incapacitate, which could have been a flesh wound in the legs, definitely NOT GOOD!

Details, Inge. Both of them protect their own interests. Should Irene blackmailed someone then that person choose to suicide, is their blood in her hands or not because she pulled the trigger indirectly? Never think that character-assasination cannot drive people into the deepest pit of despair and to the point of they will make foolish decision.

Well... Irene was pretty cool about the fact that her trap killed one of the CIA agents. I did not get the impression that shooting people was a huge deal for her.

No No, shooting people and making a trap that can kill people are obviously two different thing

Here an interesting topic!! I like to answer surveys!!

My first choice: Irene.  She's really mesmerizing, she's a beautiful, charismatic and intelligent woman and her voice is so sensual, that's difficul to resist!!! Besides, I love her 50' dress style ( I have been passionate about 50'dress style for two years and I try to buy vintage clothes as often as possible!)

Second choice : Janine. I think she's an interesting and charming woman, although I don't think I'd have a crush on her.

Third choice: Molly. Like I said about Janine, I dont think I'd have a crush on Molly, but I could be friends with her and she's a wonderful woman. It's impossible not to love Molly!
