Oh, Carol, women doctors, never mind pathologists, were few and far between in those times! Even your own Dorothy Reed, who worked at Johns Hopkins, was a pathologist and identified Hodgkin's disease as separate from tuberculosis, was too young for Sherlock Holmes, born in 1874, and even she had to give up a promising career to bring up her children, returning to work only after they had gone to school. The Victorian era was no picnic for women scientists!

Well, we do know that Molly is in the Christmas Special in the Victorian setting, so that will be something at least!

Now that I've run another thread off the rails,     I do wonder if Molly will be a Doctor in the special or not.   She certainly could be, although it would not have been the norm back then, but then they could certainly make her not a Doctor too.  Wasn't there an image of her pushing a pram from Setlock?

My original plan was to watch it this weekend while my son was with his dad only to have weekends swapped so now I'm stuck watching it on my computer as that is the only episode I don't let him watch yet.

Thanks for the reminder!  Our houseguests have left, so now I just have to decide whether to rewatch "Great Game" first or skip it for now.
