Not stage set.

Extra clue: some of the parts can be moved by sliding method or taken off completely.

Posted

But why would I want to?

Is it portable? Can it be made into a different shape?

Posted

Why are you around at this hour? Insomnia? Somnambulism? In that case, dogs better than cats right? :p

Ah..deduction.

Movable is needed for its function.

Portable? No.

Made into different shapes. No, I think the shape is quite fix.

Posted

Is it some kind of giant puzzle construction?

Posted

Good guess, but not giant puzzle construction. It is big, because of the specific function it serves.

Extra clue: this thing might be uncommon for most people and it's custom made as well.

Posted

Insomnia. :(

Is it part of the truck I was following this morning? It looks similar. :)

Posted

What.. why would I post a truck butt for deduction? :p

Anyway, since this is uncommon thing, let's think outside the box.

We know it's big, we know the material, it could be indoor or outdoor. It can be considered some kind of barrier but not fence or wall, the padding part is some sort of protection. Some parts are fixed, but others are moveable or openable.

Posted

Hey, you may know the material, but I don't. Metal or plastic, I'm guessing?

What it reminds me of, with all those nuts and bolts, is  a railroad crossing guard. But I can't figure out why something like that would have all those doors (windows?) Storage is all I can think of ... but store what? Something that needs protection ... Produce? Children?

Posted

Oh sorry I thought metal had been deduced before. Yes, it is made from metal mostly.

Not railroad crossing guard, not storage and not something to produce children! Oh my god! :blanket: wait.. you didn't really say that...:p

Well, "something for producing children" was going to be my next guess, but since you've saved me the trouble.... :p

Okay, so the blue foam thing is, I presume, to protect whatever it touches from the cold, cruel metal door. But what? Something that's only in there temporarily ... is this some kind of packing crate?

Posted

Good that it's your next guess. :D You definitely detected disappointment in my writing. XD

It's not temporary. This thing is fixed, may not be used daily, but it should be used quite often. Yes the paddings are for protection. Not packing crate.

Again, don't feel bad if it takes sometimes to get there as I believe this is uncommon, so instead of thinking abiut something familiar, it probably only relies on deductions to put things together.

Posted

Deductions??? Who do you think I am, Sherlock Holmes or something?

Eh ... blue padding ... to protect what? People's bodies? Or other delicate things?

Little doors ... so you can take something out? Or put something in? Or look through? Why do sliding doors and removable doors matter? So you put different size things through the openings? No, that wouldn't make a difference .... So you can get the doors out of the way?

Are the doors to let more light in? Maybe a compost bin? No, then you wouldn't need the blue padding .....

Exercise equipment of some kind? A scientific experiment?

Of course not. If you were Sherlock Holmes, I would look at you like this  :p

Okay, some good deduction there.

Blue paddings, yes sort of protecting other 'delicate' things.

Little doors.. to look through, there might be taking out and putting something in as well.

Not only that, but yes, one of the function is to get doors out of the way.

Doors not for getting light in.

Not exercise equipment. There could be some scientific experiment factor.

Posted

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Something to do with sound? Remove a door, change the sound?

Or maybe some sort of optical illusion thingy? Open a door and see something you don't expect to see, open it again and it's something different? Like a magic act?

Posted

No..nothing to do with sounds or magic tricks. :)

Okay, extra clue although you might complain: movement.

Posted

Some sort of box smasher?

Posted

Hmph. That's practically the same clue as before. <_<

Trash compacter? But that's not an uncommon thing...

Some kind of custom-made mobile home?

Dancing robot?

Posted

I knew it, you always poopoo my clue. It's much better clue than you think. :p

Creative guesses you have.

Not box smasher, mobile home (:blanket: home? look more like jail if you ask me!), not trash compactor (it's not as common as you think actually, I don't think I've ever seen one in person, and if not because of TV, I wouldn't know that you guys have finger chopper, strangler killer machine in your sink :blanket:, but that's not it or the bigger version), dancing robot (:lol5:.. w....why? No! :D)

What we have so far, it's made of metal, could be indoor or outdoor, some sort of barrier but not fence or wall, normally away from public view, paddings are for protection, some doors are openable, removable, slideable, some part are fixed, there could be a ladder somewhere, there could be some scientific experiment factor, not temporary, not used daily, but can be used quite often and it's uncommon. I may miss one or two things I had confirmed.. oh.. not for producing children. Please. Good god.

And oh :p movement.

Okay, extra clue. Nothing is aesthetic, it's all functional.

Posted

I agree, it's not aesthetic. In fact, I thought we'd already established that it's downright ugly. :p

Agggh, I keep falling asleep while thinking about it. Need to try again when I'm more awake. Good night!

Posted

You've met my relatives???? :d

Okay, I'm trying to imagine this thing with the doors gone.

.......

Okay then, done that.

Trying to imagine movement.

Ew, that's just weird. Um..... when it's indoors, is it more likely to be in a house, or in some kind of public building/place of business?

Posted

You've met my relatives???? :d

No. And I don't wish too.

(Is there any chance they look like voodoo dog? :p)

And aren't you supposed to look like them? XD

Ew, that's just weird. Um..... when it's indoors, is it more likely to be in a house, or in some kind of public building/place of business?

When it's indoor, it's definitely not in a house. Yes should be some kind of public building or place of business.

Now I'm posting another picture to help (probably)

No, that doesn't help. a12sreq.gif

It looks like there's room for people to stand on it. But why? So they can see over the heads of the people below? See what? A performance?

Or maybe it's something to do with... um.... gah. Keeping score at a ballgame?

Posted

They need to see something, yes. But that is not the only purpose. Not keeping score at ballgame.
