It is a spread made from yeast extract that is common in the UK.

Because it is quintessential British and I forget if I saw it in a Sherlock episode (which could also be why).

I recently took my husband to the US. My family there likes a certain kind of cracker, called Triscuits. Recently, they've discovered mini Triscuits. On our first morning, I come downstairs and can just prevent the love of my life pouring milk over a whole bowl full. He thought they were a breakfast cereal!

What, the Marmite (which my quote is based on) or Parliament?  I know Parliament/Big Ben shows up several times including its wonderful fake explosion in 3.1 (which was probably all CGI even though a mini model exploding would have been awesome).

So I was watching Series 5 Ep 8 of Doctor Who tonight and the town in the episode was Cwmtaff, Wales.  Anyone have any idea how to pronounce the Welsh.  I looked up a Welsh pronunciation guide once about 18 months ago and was mostly confused (I do better with the Irish and Scottish and those 2 are confusing enough for Celtic languages)

I live in the land of the Germanic languages with a mix of Spanish, French, and Native American for good measure also known as Minnesota.

Sounds about like me.  I'm from Ohio originally, now living in PA.  A lot of Germanic and English influence, some bizarro spelled Welsh last names in our fam that are otherwise undecipherable too.
