Sigh... After a years-long writer's block, my head is suddenly boiling with ideas but I have absolutely zero time to write at the moment. I hardly manage to at least take notes. And I bet that when my life calms down again, my creativity will go back into hibernation as well.

No wonder they say artists are crazy. My mind will only be inspired apparently if I am severely sleep deprived and on the verge of insanity.

I'm only decent at drawing if it's the middle of the night and I haven't slept properly for days. Murphy's (sod's) law.

My most creative moments tend to happen while I'm driving my car by myself and the road isn't one where you can just pull over to get the info down.

Unrelated rant - why don't they make things for single folk/small families? I really fancied a custard donut (I don't know why, they normally gross me out), but they only sell them in packs of five. I don't want to eat five, and I live on my own. Most things in the bakery section of my supermarket are in packs of five or six.

Are there donut shops over there?  Or grocery stores where you can select your own donuts, muffins, etc, as many as you like?  Both are fairly common over here.  But the pre-bagged ones, yeah, tend to come in medium-sized lots.  I suspect it's not so much that they assume families of a certain size, as that it's the size that sells the best.

There are some things you can select as singles, but a lot more variety in the pre-packed bakery stuff. Could have had a jam donut as a single.

God I hate Mondays. I look at everything that's come in over the weekend, all the stuff I have to catch up on, and wonder where the hell to start.  :(

Posted

Just you then. Everywhere else is inundated with them rolling around the streets like tumbleweeds.

That would explain the brown spots, then.

First I had to look up what a courgette was.

Most of the stores I shop at, the lettuce is grown locally. I'm just wondering if this is a nationwide problem or just a plot to annoy me personally.

I've been hitting my preferred grocery store on the wrong day for good produce so not sure, but possibly.

Possibly a nationwide problem? Or possibly a plot to annoy me? We know which way Pseud is leaning...

Egad, me too. I have my most brilliant moments when I'm in traffic and can't do a thing about it. Our brains are out to get us, Camper.

Around here, it's the opposite ... you can get all manner of donuts as a single, but the boxed ones are pretty limited to glazed, powder, plain, or chocolate iced. Even the gas stations sell donuts ... good ones, too. Alas for me, as donuts are one of my all time favorite foods. The nearby 7-11 store sells this amazing apple fritter thing ... gah.

I feel ya. Makes me want to go back to bed.

Leaning... or involved?

I don't like ring donuts, so I haven't investigated those to be fair. Just the filled ones. MMmmmmm.....

Well if it's a plot to annoy you, it is also one to annoy me as I'm several hours west and a bit north of you

Yes, our brains are definitely out to get us. That and the music as music is always going in my car with extremely rare exceptions.

As for a 7-11, I think the last time I saw one was while in Norway or Sweden 21 years ago. We have not had one in Minnesota in at least 25 years, well in all the parts I've been to anyway.

I woke up before 7 today and my alarm was set for 8. Not fun. It's going to be a long day.

No 7-11s!!!! How is that even possible! Oh, I know ... because they're all here. I mean, like one on every other corner. And they all thrive. That's how bad our population density is here. :( So be grateful. ;)

Okay, that's two of us, so I'm opting for mysterious lettuce disease.

AHA! This explains everything. I like the ring donuts, so you are getting back at me by damaging all my lettuce! I should have known!

Okay, just you wait until you see what I do in retaliation, missy. Bwahahahahaha........

I was drawn to this manic laughter thinking that the world finally changes and some mad scientists have finally found cure for idiotism, and..

It's a war of ring donut and spotted lettuce.

Sigh.

Lettuce and donuts are the two most important forces in the world, like ying and yang, good and evil.

Actually I was looking for I'm dissapointed in you, but couldn't find it. And that is supposed to be a gif but it doesn't seem to move.

Anyway.. :D

Yin and yang? Good and evil? Ring donut and lettuce? I'm outta here. Always a grey person. Not my cup of tea then. Laterz!

P.S. Remember, no food fight, don't waste food. Just rub your respective weapon to the other's face. Kindly. One bleats and one coos. What do you know, it sounds less boring all of the sudden.

You keep your 'weapon' away from my face.

What if my weapon of choice is a nice gentle breeze?

Away! It might contain spores.

Even if it is allergy friendly and completely non-toxic, 100% organic air (aka all of the normal elements on the periodic table that are found in air at the correct percentages and nothing that shouldn't be in it)?

*Sigh* Oh, go on then.

I'm generally not mean to people. I tend to be an encourager hence the nice, gentle breeze of clean air. I also tend to avoid conflict so no weapons against acquaintances, at least on purpose apart from a game of laser tag or the likes.
