We used to have film nights in my house as a kid, my folks would go out and my brothers and I would get to go to the video rental place and pick out a film each for the evening. I remember I wanted The Little Mermaid, but because it was only just out they didn't have the Disney one so I ended up with a cheap knock off version, and even though a lot of the gross stuff was cut out I remember she died at the end by dissolving into bubbles and I didn't stop crying for hours.

I still can't figure out what's wrong with the bowls...

Eh is it supposed to be Sherlock and John?
I would never know.

Okay time for something random after all those political stuffs.

Some pictures to drive my OCD (and probably yours) nuts.
(I am not a very tidy person, my work place is a mess when I'm busy but some things are just.. just.. I once left a McDonald because the table was crooked, not slight, but around 15 degrees, and it's a permanently fixed table. How could that happen!? Barbarians..Gahhhhhh.....!)

They look okay to me too.

Oh God, I'm on the hunt for a scarf and I know I'm going to end up with one that makes me feel like Sherlock. And I'm kind of okay with that!

The bowls bother me the least. The colour blue is last while it should be green

Posted

Why should it be green? I'm confused.

Posted

Because the colours are in the wrong order

Posted

Not trying to be awkward but I'm still genuinely confused, where does it say that colours need to be in a particular order?

Nowhere, it's just annoying for people with OCD

Posted

Fair enough. My OCD is more geared towards making sure a door is locked ten times in a row and other such fun things. I normally call it looping because I get stuck in a loop of checking things to the point I'm late leaving the house

Posted

Hey I have 'looping' also, but still, I forget things here and there. :(

The bowl, it should be ROYGBIV: Red - Orange - Yellow - Green - Blue - Indigo -Violet, the spectrum of rainbow. The green and blue are in wrong order and it's missing a color.

Okay, need to buy new straightjacket.

All HCA I read havw good endings. Maybe it's the translated version. Huh.

Or maybe it's yellow, orange, red, blue, purple and then green

Hm, the rainbow song we have here goes red, yellow, pink, blue, purple, orange, green, so thats different again.

Posted

Whu... whuat...! But that is so wrong, wrong, wrong!.

If you see actual rainbow, it's really ROYGBIV.

Dunno, I didn't write it ;)

Currently trying to cheer myself up from the fact it's yet another shi*tty Monday by singing to the only two Christmas songs I like, The Fairytale of New York and Stop the Cavalry, particularly enjoy putting on the English and Irish accents! :D Though I'd die if anyone heard me.

:D

Ouch! I can't hear you, but my eyes hurt reading that! :p

And please don't sing your rainbow version, it'd kill me. XD

I do a simply spiffing English accent I'll have you know. Yea, but the singing... not so good.

I've never heard of those songs

Whaaaat?! They're pretty famous  :o Maybe Stop the Cavalry is a UK thing, but Fairytale of NY def isn't. I don't think...?

Never heard of either carol and rainbow order is definitely roygbiv or according to physics vibgyor as you start at the light source and work you way out.

Oh God, they're definitely not carols.

Beware of some bad language in this first one:

I guess this one is very British so less surprised it might not be known:

Rainbow song... lol, sounds like something from a horror film taken out of context :D

As I recall, the Pogues never caught on much here in the States, so unless you had access to a college radio station or something like that, it's not surprising if it's not familiar, I would guess. I've heard the song, but it's, er ... not my thing. The Cavalry one is unknown to me.

Camper wins the internet! :D

My problem is, I can't think of any reason why bowls should be in rainbow order.... how unoriginal of them! :p

My slight Sherlock brain has shown up again. And physics was 21 years ago.

The thing that actually bothers me most about those bowls is that the little blue one looks like it came from another set -- it's shinier than the others, the color is more intense, and it may be slightly too small as well. But you guys are right -- the three smallest bowls are in definitely the wrong order.

Which prompts me to mention my latest "find" -- a set of plastic measuring cups and measuring spoons in assorted colors. I hate trying to read the size markings on most measuring cups, especially when the markings are just molded into the plastic. I've been thinking it sure would be nice to have a color-coded set, even if I had to buy a set of each color in order to do it.

We were in a store the other night and there they were -- pre-made sets in assorted colors! They're nice quality, too, and only $5 per set (which includes both cups and spoons).

Then I got to thinking that it would be even nicer if they were in some easy-to-remember sequence. Sure, I could memorize any random sequence, but why bother? Each set was different, but none were in rainbow order. So of course I plunked my butt down on the floor and proceeded to make me one. The clerk came over and asked if there was a problem, so I explained, but when she walked away, she still looked puzzled (leaving me feeling a bit like Adrian Monk). I managed to make up a rainbow set using only three random sets, so I have just two extra sets in random colors, if anyone's interested!

Do you have a picture? For how much are you selling them? How much do I have to pay for transport?
