I wonder... with voice training lesson, how many octave higher or lower someone can achieve.

I have a former friend who has a high pitched voice.  She reminds me of a child, to a degree, when she talks.  It might be soothing for her students as she teaches primary school aged children.  It grates me, but she was a trusted friend.

(Why are the bad guys always British?)

Because they are disturbingly sexy? :)

The best kind of voice is dark and velvety and speaks with a British accent.

How convenient, we all happen to know someone like that.....! :D And agreed .....

Okay, this night I've had the first dream with a bit of a story and dialogue, starring... Viggo Mortensen. Which makes me hope for my first "right" BC dream in... 2027. Now, THAT's a hiatus, folks! whoopdedoo.gif

That's almost worthy of a rant. Crazy how our brains work.

Even more funny - I found a solution to a problem that was actually solved... 9 years ago. :D

So, we've had a fan meetup at one of the member's place in Washington. We've made a ride to the coast, prepared for a picnic in a nice spot with a fireplace ... Well, I said prepared... because nobody of us had fire. I hardly leave home without my tiny Swiss knife and some kind of fire making device, but I left my lighter home not wanting it on the plane.

So in the end we've made the fire with my field glasses. It was fun, but...  tonight I suddenly asked myself why we haven't used the cars' cigarette lighters.

I have no memory what triggered that thought, it could be something I read on the net about "being a fan".

Well, binge watching of Sherlock fallout plus antibiotics plus a bit distorted sleeping pattern can do things to your brain...

I don't think most newer cars have cigarette lighters.  They used to be standard equipment, but nowadays all you get is the place to plug them in (which can also be used to power a GPS or whatever), and if you want the actual lighter, you have to buy one.  So maybe that's why you had to use your field glasses.

:lol5:  Oh, good heavens, you've got to check out the customer reviews for these sugar-free gummy bears.

Note:  The ingredient list is wrong (accidentally copied from their regular sugar-type gummy bears).  The reviews are hilarious for a different (albeit ingredient-related) reason.

I read that once some time back.  It has only gotten better (or maybe worse).

Just found something... slightly confusing.

Recently someone started a chain-reaction-action called #15secondshakespeare and one of the contribution is THIS.

:wtf: Is this Shakespeare? Is Sherlock quoting him in TSOT?

OMG, is that REAL? Because that Bears of Hell are unavailable now.

Did Sherlock applied for an apprenticeship at Haribo recently?

It very well could be... Although I've never seen these in a store, which is a bit odd because Haribo is a German company and their products are so popular around here that they fill an entire isle of their own in most supermarkets. Perhaps they tried these sugar free things out online first and when they got the first customer reactions were really glad they never sold them off the shelf.

A lot of "sugar free" sweeteners are basically undigestible carbohydrates, so therefore many people will have a bean-type reaction to them.  And this product was apparently available for a time, since a number of reviews are stamped "Verified Purchase" (some of which claim it caused an explosive reaction, and some not).

I can find no mention of any sugarless or sugar-free products on the Haribo website, however.  And this online vendor says that the product has been discontinued by the manufacturer.

Saying "down, girl" or "down, boy" when someone is a little, uh ... overenthusiastic ... is a humorous phrase I've heard most of my life, I think, so heaven knows where it originally came from. But it's a sure thing it didn't start with Kanye.

I believe the saying came from dog training -- if an overly-friendly dog reared up and put its front paws on somebody, they'd say "down, boy!" or "down, girl!"  But as to where that came from....

Well, it's just English for "down girl", if you see what I'm getting at. I mean, what else  could you say?

*grins* How about a short and sharp No! (dog-only)?

Oh that..... Sherlock already experienced it firsthand when he refused to hand a certain camera phone to Ms. Adler.

I have been so tired lately... It's as if after a life of insomnia, my body suddenly realized it is sleep deprived and wants to get it all back. Sorry if I haven't been around much, but these past few days, I've collapsed as soon as I came home and the brain is sluggish and dull. Perhaps I need to hibernate this winter.

Had considered staying calling in sick today and staying home (even though strictly speaking, I am not ill), but it was flu shot day, and while my insurance would have payed for it anyway, I think if your employer offers you a chance to get vaccinated during company time and saves you a trip to the doctors' plus all the hassle of making an appointment that matches your weird working hours, then you should definitely make good use of that.

Am going to snuggle up in bed now with my developing antibodies. Somebody wake me up in time for the Special, please! :P

Oh, I've thought about something more, ahem, recreational (as Mycroft put it).

Oi...

Oh, I'm sure we were supposed to think of that as well!

Whatever you have, it must be contagious via the internet.  That's exactly how I've been feeling the past few weeks.  I went to bed early last night, thinking I'd get plenty of sleep and still wake up at the usual time.  But no, I slept twelve hours!
