I just went looking for an online definition of "Moftiss," but nothing jumped right out at me.  I think it's been explained here on the forum a time or two before this, but just in passing, as has presumably happened elsewhere on the internet as well.

"Johnlock," by contrast, is explicitly defined all over the place!

Squeee, so cute! But are they supposed to be Martians or something?

Posted

You mean the two little guys at the top of this page?

I think they're supposed to be Sherlock and John -- maybe in the Martian version of the show?   :alien:

They're the Reddit version of Sherlock & John.  Reddit had fun and Sherlocked itself.

I don't even know what that means.... but I take your word for it!

Reddit is an entertainment, social networking, and news website where registered community members can submit content, such as text posts or direct links, making it essentially an online bulletin board system. (Per Wikipedia)  If I remember correctly, Mark Gatiss did something (live Q&A maybe) with them in the last year.

I got through part of it. It was rather interesting.

They block reddit here.  <_< (Not sure for whatever stupid reason)

Can't even see two little guys that you talk about.

Reddit covers a variety of topics, some of which are basically X-rated.  That may explain it.  But here's their Johnlock logo:

I've looked at Reddit a few times, but something about the the formatting of it drives me bonkers.  I just don't get it.

You must've forgotten to leave food out for the elves. They won't work for nothing, you know.

Thank you...!

I've read Reddit many times where it's not banned. They have quite a lot of useful info as well right? (Like these Sherlock cuties..!)

Oh well..

Why the hell my flat is as messy as I left it ten days ago?

Mrs Hudsooooon!

Maybe she is out there getting Biscuits!

Oh... Speedy is close too. I wonder where is Mr. Chaterjee...

To the German fans: ST Into Darkness runs at PRO7.

Do you think it makes sense to have a thread for upcoming, more or less Sherlock related movies etc? I don't buy TV press anymore and sometimes I miss things.

Ah, Kirk also thinks better when he talks...

Had to smile at some little details - like that the attack occurred in London, or at a very Sherlock-is reaction from Spock. And that I watch it again, despite having it recorded. Maybe I end buying it - the Voice is badly missed.

Me too.  But it seems like we usually have a mention somewhere on the forum -- either a whole new thread for a new Holmes movie/TV show such as Elementary or Mr. Holmes, or if it's a "guest appearance" by one of the Sherlock actors, then it gets at least a mention in that actor's "News" thread.

Am I missing your point?

I just think it would be more convenient, because people might not follow discussions about those different shows, but still want to have a look at them. Just a thought. :)

I wonder if they did something to the German voice for Khan. It sounds like it had a additional echo or something...

That's not a bad idea, actually.  Why don't you go start the thread, with an initial post that explains what it's for?

 I think I am aging backwards. When I was a kid, I detested Disney, and now that I no longer qualify as young, here I am in bed, listening to an entire Disney songs collection and thinking that Scar's (the bad guy from the Lion King) voice is disturbingly sexy - especially with the British accent. (Why are the bad guys always British?)

^ A coincidence with your post, although we are talking about different aspect. :)

I am sucker for alternative universe, as in different scenario to the existing world. The ideas about dystopia, utopia, sci-fi, scientific developments that might change existing world intrigue me. Or even good fiction about alternate universe.

Before knowing about Benjamin Button fiction, I swear I wrote a crappy story about something similar, opposite world when human is growing younger physically as they are growing old.

The idea came from reading heartland news back then about parent abandonment. So a good-for-nothing son tricked his parents to sign off their family house to his name. Then he locked them out and left them homeless. Speechless. And that are many worse stories out there.

There should be a solution that older people should enjoy better lives by default.

In current world, the problems are falling health, finance, physical condition, not much left after supporting their family for so long and abandonment. Or when life finally settle with better monetary, when there are finally free time to do things you couldn’t afford to do when you are younger, but you are not physically fit anymore. There is almost nothing more heartbreaking than seeing my parents getting more and more fragile because of age, or more frustrating when I’m not as strong as I used to be.

Imagine being in Benjamin Button’s world. We can take up whatever physical activities we want during prime years, have fun when we are old, with strong legs to run around and colorful things to play, where burden and responsibility can finally be put behind, and with better probability that someone is there for you during twilight years, less people abandon babies than elderlies.

What do you guys think, would you prefer that world? Or do you have better imaginary world? Or are you liking an alternate world in certain movie?

Or is it just another nonsense. Because for sure I am capable of that.

P.S. Not sure if it fits here, or movie thread, or others, or none. XD

Does it help that Jeremy Irons was the voice of Scar?  He does play villains quite well.

Still about voice. Today I encountered someone with 'fingernails raking on chalkboard' kind of voice. Ladies, what kind of voice you find as pleasing and most annoying?

Posted

The best kind of voice is dark and velvety and speaks with a British accent.

The worst kind of voice is shrill and obnoxious and uses English sounding non-words with a bad German accent.

I am sad that my own voice isn't very pleasant. My pitch is way too high.
