I got an email today from the convention organizers (and here's the same thing on the internet):

We said that as soon as things started to come together we would let you know, and it’s looking like we’re going to be able to give you the date and first guest announcements for Sherlocked in the next 7 to 10 days!

We are in talks with some of the headline cast; they are in town and we are just about to finalise their agreements to attend. We have also managed to secure a venue for the date we are looking at, and we are about to finalise that too! It’s all very close to us being able to announce what we have been planning for a long while now.

We promise that as soon as we have everything signed off we will go live with the website and tickets, and be able to offer you an amazing weekend with the cast of Sherlock in London!

To give you as much warning as possible, the event date is likely to be around the end of April this year. We do not advise anyone to book travel or hotels until this is all official but we did want to give you as much lead in time as we can.

Thank you all for your patience and we are very much looking forward to letting you know everything we have planned for you!

That was it -- nothing yet about an American convention.

Does anyone know how quickly these tickets usually get sold?

This is the first one as I understand.  So no idea. But I expect it to be fairly popular.

I'm hoping if they ever make it to the US for a convention it's in NYC.  *fingers crossed*

When they first announced the convention (last year, before it got postponed), they were saying there would be two (or three, it wasn't clear) locations, including one in the US.  But they seem to have lowered their sights a bit, presumably because it's hard enough to get the actors together for actual filming, let alone a convention.

In less than two hours, they should be announcing who will be appearing (or at least some of them).

Cumberbatch will be there, according to facebook.

And I have just bought a ticket. I'm actually going! :bouncy::party::thumbsup: :brit:

Can you tell I'm excited?!

Yup, Cumberbatch, Gatiss, Moffat, Sue Vertue, and Arwel Jones -- so far.  Details here.

No Loo?   :(

Oh, we don't know yet... They are still working on the announcements.

But the two I most wanted to be there are already announced, so now I'm just crossing my fingers for Martin Freeman, Loo Brealey, Rupert Graves and Andrew Scott. No, I don't expect much, at all...

So who did you want most?  BC and Gatiss?

Hi guys! I'm relatively new on these forums but a massive Sherlock fan. Just managed to buy a Silver ticket (whoopee!) although having some trouble finding accommodation... £200 for a hotel for the 3 nights is a bit too much for my budget haha :(

Holy prices!  Maybe I won't be going if it comes to the US.  lol.  I'd be most interested in the talks but you don't even get tickets to the talks included in the packages until the gold level.  I'd be worried with the lower levels that the talks would fill up and I wouldn't be able to get in.  I can't say I care as much about the photos and autographs.

I bought a ticket. I think it is a shame the talks, pictures and autographs aren't included... I just hope I can do at least one of those things. I'm not going to travel from Holland (2 weeks before my final exams) for nothing.

So FINGERS CROSSED!!

I'm very upset cos I'm not going there :(  It appears to be very expensive to me, I need ticket to the Sherlocked, plane tickets, visa and accomodation. Due to the exchange rates it is such a big money:'C  So I wish luck to all of them who's going! Hope you'll meet and get autographs of Benedict, Mark and so on:3

Exactly! Both men have pivotal roles in Sherlock - and they seem really nice and charming, which is a big plus.

Has anyone here ever been to something like this?  Like if you get the standard weekend ticket or silver pass what would be your odds of making it into say a big talk (like with the whole gang), or will it likely be full of VIP, platinum, and gold members?

Those who are going to the SHERLOCKED Convention: If anyone is interested in meeting up at the Convention Center, that would be fun. You can just reply to this, or send me a pm.

I won't be there Friday evening, but I'm there all Saturday and on the Sunday until approx. 3pm.

Ooooh, this is tempting... and this despite the fact that I absolutely hate crowds. Especially the prop display and folks from behind the camera would be nice. But... I would probably kill someone...

On the other hand - this is one great money making machine. 3000 for a VIP ticket?

And they don't use Paypal!

Try aiming for Moffat :D Definitely not Cumberbatch!

It could be a real zoo, yeah.  (If enough people can afford it.)

All of that adds up to big money, exchange rate or no exchange rate!  Plus it's awfully last-minute.  Alex and I just don't feel we can afford it right now, and we'd rather try to be there for Series 4 setlock anyhow.  If they ever have a convention on this side of the Atlantic, we might consider it, depending on details (such as which city -- may I recommend St. Louis?).
