No problem with the files.

BTW is Arwel using a specific dialect/accent or just mumbling

I was able to reload it later, so yeah, it must have been just me.

Judging by his name, Arwel Wyn Jones is Welsh, which presumably explains his accent.  Added:  Looks like Bev and I were co-posting to the same effect.

Following him on twitter shows his Welsh side through & through. Will have listen to it later.

Welsh side?

I don't think there's any other side. Tee Hee.

He's  a full blown Welshman, bless him.

I had no trouble understanding him.

You've lost me, J.P.   (Which is admittedly not hard to do!)

Oh, I must be annoying like Sherlock running down the stairs yelling "PINK!" :P

It is the framed photograph on the Wall in 221B.

Here is a good image of it.

I was a bit obsessed about it, as it reminded me of something, but I could never recognize what it was, until I saw it on set.

You are seriously obsessed when...

Actually, I suspect that both the Museum and the Sherlock set are based on a long history of illustrations, plus sets from plays, movies, and television programs -- all of which were, in turn, based on Conan Doyle's descriptions.  Moftisses seem to pick up tidbits like magpies.

By the way, do you (or anybody here) know of a way to read an entire page on Pinterest, short of joining?  (How do I know whether I'd like to join if I can't even get a good look at what's on there?  I find the whole deal pretty irksome.)

I just came across a drawing of #221B drawn in 1995, based on Conan Doyle's stories.  The list of details organized by story gives a clear idea of what's taken from the original stories -- which would appear to be just about everything!

I had started reading ASIP and didn't get that far, but I remember the one thing that stuck out to me was how similar the flat in Sherlock was to the description in ASIP.

Do you mean A Study in Scarlet?  Just be aware that it jarringly shifts half way through.

But then it shifts back later on.  (Much later on.)

Sorry, I don't, I'm permanently logged in, I didn't even notice that there is a view restriction.

BTW, on the webpage with the drawing, there is also a picture of Doyle's pen - it's also mentioned in TGG: a Parker Duofold. :)

Oh, yeah... that too.  ;)  I keep forgetting the stories don't match the episode names.

I hope you're marking it up as you go.  I've been marking all the little bits that have been lifted into the current TV series.  It's really amazing to me to see a bit of the gears working in their brains on how they snip little pieces and work them into episodes.

I have a weird thing about writing in books;  I just can't do it.  Couldn't even do it in my textbooks in college.  But I do plan to take notes when I get back to reading.

That is soooo neat!

Me either! It seems like sacrilege, somehow. Drives me crazy when I try to read a book that is marked up, too. Urgh.

I used to feel that way, but if they're my own books, and if they will likely never part with me, I have no qualms marking them.  I don't generally mark books, but I have been marking my Sherlock Holmes canon with all the bits and references I find.  One of these days I will compile them, but then I will not have the things from S4 marked... so may wait until after that.

I hear you all and feel your pain...

But I can I just say, hubby and I have occasionally picked up second hand books that a previous owner has scrawlwd notes in and the notes have been absolutely brilliant and in some cases have really made me laugh!

There are some additional set-construction photos on our thread "S3 Set Construction" -- most of the photos aren't showing up for me just now, but the links do work, so it's probably just my system acting up again.

Or not ... I can't see them either, and the links don't seem to link to anything ... ?
