Brilliant because it's cheeky!

Well, there's at least one Tardis in Sherlock, so who knows what other cheekiness is in there.  THAT would have been an enormous cheekiness, tho.

Maybe we'll get lucky and they will include it as part of the Minion movie that is apparently in the works.

Maybe they will spell the title correctly.

That would be brilliant.

That is clever, but unfortunately they've oversimplified the "Hounds" quote in order to make it work.  Here's the original (from Ariane DeVere's transcript):

SHERLOCK (softly): Once you’ve ruled out the impossible, whatever remains – however improbable – must be true.

JOHN: What does that mean?

(Looking away again, Sherlock reaches down and picks up a drink from a nearby table. Looking down at his trembling hand, he sniggers.)

SHERLOCK: Look at me. I’m afraid, John. Afraid.

(He takes a drink and then holds the glass up again, his hand still shaking.)

JOHN: Sherlock?

SHERLOCK: Always been able to keep myself distant ... (he takes another drink from the glass) ... divorce myself from ... feelings. But look, you see ...

(He holds up the glass and glares at his shaking hand.)

SHERLOCK: ... body’s betraying me. Interesting, yes? Emotions. (He slams the glass down onto the table.) The grit on the lens, the fly in the ointment.

JOHN: Yeah, all right, Spock, just ...

(Realising that he is starting to raise his voice, he looks around at the other people in the restaurant behind him and then looks back to Sherlock.)

JOHN (more softly): ... take it easy.

It looks to me like John calls him "Spock" because he's talking about controlling his emotions.  And sorry, I don't think Sherlock was quoting Spock a bit earlier, he's just talking like Sherlock Holmes.   ;)

Star Trek and Sherlock are connected, at least, according to this article.

Well, of course Star Trek and Sherlock are connected.  There have been "Sherlock Holmes is/was a Vulcan" articles in Trek fanzines since at least 1970.

That article made me laugh. While slightly plausible, I put it at highly unlikely. Is the star date the same as the Gregorian calendar? If so then more likely. If not, then less likely.

Umm, no, they're not the same.  There may be some sort of complex formula to compute one from the other, but they're definitely not the same.  The whole point of star dates was to factor in the whole time-differential-due-to-faster-than-light-travel thing.

Well, actually it was so they wouldn't have to specify an actual year in any episodes.  They did specify to a certain extent -- the original series was set sometime in the late 22nd Century.  But then the original-cast movies were set a hundred years later than that.    Guess they decided they hadn't gone far enough into the future the first time.

I had a feeling they were not the same/related calendar system.

May I just point out that Spongebob is not, technically, or in fact by any stretch of the imagination, a man ....

Now Goku ... HE could be Khan!

Goku could definitely be Khan the only thing is he's too nice. Now Vegeta has the Khan like personality: if you're not of my race, goodbye.

You know your obsession is bad because you get the following message: "You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day" due to good content on here by others.

... when you try something new with your hair, are asked where the heck you got that idea and think "from Molly, of course, silly" before you remember that you are the only person in the room who knows who Molly Hooper actually is.

The fandom will be abuzz for most of this year just because of filming and a whole new round of speculations regarding Moriarty...then when the special airs...Um, yeah.  And we're bad enough before the filming starts. :)

And Tumbler shall fall again on the night the special airs....

You watch TRF, and, in spite of having  seen it dozens of times, feel vaguely unsettled and worried until you can watch TEH and see everyone get back to normal.

I think BC and Hiddles are the kings of Tumblr.  They should probably just rename Tumblr something like Benetom Hiddlesbatch.

Someone already needs to come stage an intervention and take away my cell phone.  I can't stop refreshing Twitter and Tumblr.

This is pretty much me right now:
