Engaging with people and having to be upbeat and pleasant all day. For thirteen. Solid. Hours.  Please, shoot me now......

I see that you still manage to scratch your butt.

Not dead enough! :)

Forgive me for my kindergarten scrawl. I am not in the right mind too. This time more than usual. Murderous. Last night I even tried to walk by myself into pitch dark jungle that has plethora of ghastly supernatural testimony, to get away! To get away!I got caught and they didn't let me. Grmbll...

Adding another entry. I am very grateful to be born as an introvert with low need for external approval-admiration because it protects me from the likes of gold-diggers and parasites who often try to boost their victim's ego only to suck them dry layer. Praise the Lord for this invaluable gift!

To be fair, I have met many introverts who like suckers too and can't get rid of parasites.

Grins. I know the types (and secretly I tried to identify their alphabet soup ).

That's why I need someone to shoot me. I'm too exhausted to finish the job by myself. ;)

No. Lucky, no!

I was caught by security and they didn't let me go out alone. Apparently beside scary, there were also questionable characters who might be 'impolite' to women. To be honest, I was so pissed that I didn't care, bring it on, I wanted some punching outlet. (Yah..I do stupid things when I'm angry. But I'm also a lot stronger and crazier. Well, it's still stupid).

I had bad long day, and at the end our pick up showed up one hour plus late. One hour plus! They already one hour late in the beginning of the day. There is no public transport or other ways. One thing I really can't stand is wasting time like that. Anyway, the security were being very nice so I obliged.

While we are on that (not really!) I had Cumberbatch dream last night. XD Apparently he is a celebrity who is also very respectful to fan's privacy, and he has mild OCD too, like me.

So I am sitting in a room after having too many people withdrawal and don't want any human interaction at all, he walks in and sits two chair away beside me and we both have nice quiet introvert moment. Oh, and he tries to get rid of some stain on the wall that has been bothering me too. I am sold.

Sometimes I'm not sure whether I am being a jerk or just an introvert.

My 'friend' was just discharged from hospital, but I don't feel like contacting her for a while because I'm dreading emotional overload about her life that she usually shares too much, too long too 'sad' designed to extort pity response that I am not really capable of because my-problem-is-bigger-than-yours-you-just-don't-know-it-because-I-don't-share-it-so-I-don't-understand-why-I-need-to-sympathize-too-on-top-of-other-people-who-already-respond-the-way-you-want..

But I know she is alright and has everything she needs from other mutual friends.

Send her a card?

I...don't have her address.

I am a jerk, am I not?

Maybe I will send her a text... I can always ignore my phone if things get out of hand. Okay, jerk it is.

Nobody can blame you for trying to protect your own sanity, VBS. Well, nobody except the emotional vampires who is better avoided anyway.

No no, not text, too easy to reply.

Sky-writing?

I have solved it, I'm going to wait until I'm ready to text, by then, she has already been discharged for too long for it to be relevant, and she already has new set of stories that I don't need to ask about, even by normal empathy etiquette. :p

There.

I'm soo shaking hand with Moriarty in hell.

But for safety measure, maybe I'll hang garlic around my neck. XD

Anyway, a new colleague of mine who shares office with me, and most of the time there are only two of us around, is an introvert.

Quiet, not prying, minding our own business in our respective corners. Me happy. :)

Someone keep repeating themselves only in different wording today. It is almost like she is trying to refine her idea through her mouth. Oh how I wish for a roll of duct tape (or is it should be duct tape?). Mind immediately flew toward Sherlock's own habit and I feel sympathy for his flatmate whoever is it. Must have the patience of a saint when rooming with someone who open their mouth not because they seek outside opinion. Paper + pencil / whiteboard / apps exists to facilitate idea development without the need of turning someone into a pest to the environment.

My sister thinks out loud.  It is the only way for her to process anything.  When she is typing, she's rarely quiet as she is saying her thoughts as she types.  I'm used to it because I know that is what she needs to do.  My dad, however, is an out loud thinker on occasion and you have no idea if you need to respond or not as he does not give verbal cues indicating that he would now like a response to what he just said.  My son johnspec does his pretend mode out loud as he does not have that inner voice people usually have when reading silently.  I get very entertaining car rides with him.  Then there's me. The quiet thinker who can hold long drawn out imaginary conversations with anyone whose voice I've heard enough.  I dance, conduct, or air instrument to the conscious music (and sometimes subconscious music) playing in my head.  But don't ask me to hum the tune as it will be unrecognizable.

*wry smile* Maybe my immediate response was partially shaped by past experience of when she opened her mouth near me it is usually for venting and or complaining. She is a hyper-critical negative-nancy and even the voice of her immediately set me on defensive mode & queasy stomach.

I just have a fight with someone I bet have a high extroverted score. He insult me for being unsuccessful in a past job as customer service representative. That time I was constantly surrounded by always-talking/gossipping people at work hours and when I came home the TV always set on loud volume you can hear even from the second floor. Needless to say that I am always on edge and very easily snapping at people that period. That a**h**e likes that kind of setting, both at job and home and had arrogantly proclaimed out loud that I am an embarrassment (because I had failed to perform as expected thus didn't become a credit to his name). This kind of happenings make me wish to meet people who invented system that states that offsprings must obey their elders and become a credit to their names, so I can make them regret they day they were born.

I think introverts are naturally worse at customer service.

I did shopkeeping, helping my family and I was super lousy at sweetalking customers. Nevertheless, my mom liked my presence because I am useful in other handy talk related stuffs, like finding effective ways to shut down naggy and rude customers, and also chased away and confronted big bullies who asked for money. It's a wonder how sensitive a couple of big burly bullies with words from opponent they least expect.

I think it is the constant demand on our mental energy with little or no down time that scramble our ability to listen, analyse and create solution. We can learn about how to recognize types of people and how to handle them but practicing it tired us out. Maybe we would do better in environment that doesn't constantly batter us with external sensory stimulations.

I was good at customer service but was so drained that johnspec was lucky to get more than cursory attention from me when I got home from work. It doesn't help that he's an extrovert.

I'm pretty good at customer service, actually; if I do say so myself. I like to help people. But I'm terrible at sales ... I don't like trying to convince people to buy stuff they don't already want to buy. But I agree that constant interaction with people is exhausting for me ... I don't think I could do it full time without becoming Miss Crankypants.

I think interaction with people drains my energy so fast precisely because I want to be good at it. I try very hard to "attune" myself to the other person or people and I want to do right by them. It's kind of an all or nothing business...

Well, you know they say that introverts give energy to people, while extroverts draw energy from people. So it's not surprising that people wear us out.

Agreed.  I did sales for about a month or 2 at the CS job I had for 7 years.  I was rubbish and went back to the CS part of the department.

Today wasn't too bad.  Hung out on the sofa with movies while dealing with a massive, quite annoying head cold.  I leave in about 2 hours to pickup johnspec from his dad's
