There's a fire-department tank truck on the street -- presumably to deal with whatever those extras were running from. Yeah, probably another explosion. Moriarty lives on!

Sorry, no link since I'm on my cell phone. But it's on Twitter, hashtag #setlock (of course).

What puzzles me is, it's now past 6:00 in London -- still a couple hours till the "real" filming is due to start, but there must be at least dozens of fans there by now. Most of them presumably have smart phones. But we're getting only one Twitter post per ten or fifteen minutes. Of course, they can all see what the others have posted, so there shouldn't be much overlap. But still.

In any case, things will presumably heat up in a couple of hours when the stars arrive.

Someone on Twitter conjectures that the tank is merely water for tonight's "rain." Makes sense. If it were for filming a fire scene, they'd surely have hose trucks there too.

IF they show up. Shooting doesn't automatically mean the main characters.

Not necessarily, no. But Alex said that a security guy told them the filming wouldn't start till around 8:30, and they're already filming with extras. So what's left to start in a couple of hours if not scenes with credited characters? OK, not necessarily Sherlock and John -- though who else do we typically see on Baker Street?

The time that Alex and I were there (for So3), they probably did less filming than for any other episode of the first ten -- yet Cumberbatch and Freeman were there. And this time they're reportedly doing the "Baker Street" scenes for all three episodes. So -- even considering that they may now be making an effort to minimize time on North Gower -- I fully expect this to be a star-studded evening.

Now someone's posted a closer shot, and pointed out that the tank says "foam unit.". I'm fresh out of conjectures.

A part of BC's script for episode 2 has been leaked by a pap photo. Contains something spoilary about Culverton Smith's role in the episode.

Thank you for posting ONLY THE LINK here.  I have started a thread for true spoilers (i.e., leaks), and ask that anyone who wants to discuss the information found at that link please do so in that thread.  Thank you!

Sunset in London today is 9:17 pm or so.  So it may start out as a twilight shoot, segueing into a night shoot.  In any case, things may start to happen any time now, because it's almost 8:30 there.

People have also reported the arrival of Mark Gatiss, Sue Vertue, and Steven Moffat.  And they're testing the rain machine.

Apparently Amanda Abbington has arrived as well.  So far no mention of Martin Freeman (other than "where is he?").

Aha!  Martin Freeman is there.

Added:  I believe that's Sue Vertue taking a photo of the crowd.  Hope she Tweets it, since I've seen no mass photos of the fans.

Una is there!

Was that on Twitter? I don't understand that site. I'll see a particular tweet on there, but then -- frequently -- when I look for it again it's not there. All I can think of is that I've somehow messed up my hashtag search, but if so it certainly wasn't intentional. Anybody got any hints for me?

In Twitter you do the search for #setlock and you will get all tweets with that hashtag.  New ones & retweets come in constantly during filming even if it is not a filming day so losing a tweet is not hard to do if no one is rt that particular post.

But don't they stay in chronological order?

(And by the way, now I've seen a post with a photo of Una Stubbs! Sorry, can't link, 'cause I'm back on my cell phone.)

They do kind of.  But it's possible to see a post that was originally written 1 week ago RT'd 5 minutes ago show up ahead of the new post from 6 minutes ago.  And with so many posts, you can scroll through hundreds (mostly RT's) in a matter of minutes.

Geez, it's like a red carpet! Including Ian and Bunsen. According to the time of the posts, they are signing and taking pics for more than an hour now! > makes me want to get on a plane right now...

BTW, do you remember this fan-made teaser?

The maker might be into something here...

I believe that Amanda was wearing this same shirt from previous setlock pics, so for continuity sake, the scenes would be the same day.  Otherwise she'd be wearing a different shirt.

But aren't retweets marked as such -- like when we quote someone else's post here?

Several people were making that point on Twitter, so apparently yes, the same day as the market scene.

So how come people on television never wear the same shirt two days in a row? (Except on Gilligan's Island, of course.)
