The bits of dialogue from the original stories, even slightly paraphrased (where would I be without my blogger? for example ) stick out a mile! Twisting the original plot to make him a killer, or poor Mary Morstan into an ex-assassin are more than A BIT NOT GOOD!

Exact times of filming on Gower...

https://twitter.com/PhillipJNoakes/status/737736804959391744

To quote from the letter:

We are writing to inform you of filming taking place on North Gower Street for one day, Sunday 12th June (1700-2330hrs).

We will be implementing a road closure on North Gower Street and Euston Street licensed from 0800-0100hrs on Sunday 12th June.  It will be put in place from approximately 1200-2330hrs on the day.  We will be using a localised rain effect in front of Speedy's Sandwich Bar (183-187 North Gower Street) turned on for setting and takes only in this area.

In order to accommodate our filming, we will be suspending the bays outside out filming location for continuity and to park our essential technical vehicles.  These suspensions will be on North Gower Street, Drummond Street, Euston Street, Stephenson Way and Cardington Street.

In addition to our filming, we will also be preparing the location on the same day from 0900hrs.  There will be a small number of technical vehicles to assist with this.

Here is a map showing the streets mentioned.

This could work out perfectly for me in that I might not have to check my bags at Euston Station and I can just focus on watching filming on Sunday, June 12th and Monday, June 13th if they're not done.

What would be interesting (and they would never do it) is for them to say - "audience, here's your homework: read these 10 ACD stories in prep for the next series." That won't mean the stories are the same, but maybe elements or bits of dialogue we'll get to know later.

Actually, they did something very much like that for Series 2. Their three clue words have been misquoted many times (often by Moftiss themselves), but they were Adler, Hound, and Reichenbach -- so that even a Doyle illiterate like me could figure out which stories they were adapting. They tried something similar for Series 3 (rat, wedding, bow), but not as successfully, I think.

I know it is an old topic, still like to share a very detailed closeup video of 31st May Setlock. Sherlock seems stumbling in his mind palace

That would be brilliant! Although I can see it now -- everyone who saw me in it would commiserate with me over my hiatal hernia.... :D

Well, the only two medically-related original cases were The Dying Detective and the Blanched Soldier, and there's no sign of the latter! So, it must be Culverton Smith or the hallucinogenic-loving half brother from The Devil's Foot.

we can have "You should put that on a T-shirt" on one side and "Hiatus is a mental condition" on the other!

This is also further info about the Gower street filming...

That's the same letter that got removed from Twitter a few days ago, right? Good, glad it's once more available online -- assuming of course that it's for real.

Indeed.  I hope Alex's camera will work under those conditions!

And the trip to Morocco is already over?

I just stopped by North Gower Street earlier today and here is what I found:

1.  All of the North Gower Street signs indicate filming for 11 June through 13 June.

2.  Only the signs on Euston Street indicate filming only for Sunday.

This suggests to me that this letter was sent to someone on Euston Street and Sherlock filming of scenes will likely take place on either the Saturday or the Monday (or both), as well as on the Sunday or it's possible that filming is only on the Sunday as the letter implies, but the Saturday is needed for setup and the Monday may be needed to complete filming if it's not finished on Sunday.

In any case, my brother and I will be there to observe what we can!

I am still pondering that dog. Offhand, I can think of three dogs that play prominent roles in canon stories:

The Hound -- I think we can rule this one out on any number of grounds.

Toby from Sign of the Four -- considering that we've seen them walking the dog on a leash, this seems the most likely to me, even though it doesn't much fit Conan Doyle's description:

Toby proved to be an ugly, long-haired, lop-eared creature, half spaniel and half lurcher, brown and white in color, with a very clumsy, waddling gait.

The stable dog from "Silver Blaze" -- we've had a couple of "Silver Blaze" references from the crew, so this may also be a good possibility -- even though we've seen the dog only out and about, rather than in a stable (or, as has been conjectured, in an auto-racing garage).

Or maybe it's a combination of Toby and the stable dog?

There was also Carlo the mastiff in Copper Beeches, but I'm sure it's not him. There was also an unnamed dog that the woman's husband killed in Abbey Grange. (Although in Jeremy Brett's version they named the dog Fudge on his tombstone.) There was also a dog in Shoscombe Old Place, the lady's dog, and he turned out to be a clue!

Geez, I'm surprised I remember all this stuff!

A new cast member has emerged... don't know what part she plays, tho.

I saw somewhere, possibly with something Ruther2 posted, that she was playing a police woman.  I saw it come up in the #setlock search I currently have setup in my hootsuite.  Will be interesting to see if that is indeed the case.

What I am wondering, especially with 1) AGRA, 2) Abbington recently travelling to Morocco for part of the shoot, 3) the casting of the new guy, if Morocco isn't doubling for parts of Turkey.
