Is that his mind palace or just his half-drugged state of dreaming?  In fact, we don't actually know that Irene ever figured it out.  No, that's all in his dream.

Andrew Scott is so rocking the bad boy poses and clothes, from what we've seen on the beach, that I don't care if it's MP or flashbacks or twins!  He's FUN

To me this indicates that It also could be a red herring. If Andrew was available in that time, he could do this just for fun (I would cernainly DO). And they needed the helicopter anyway, so including him in small fake scene wouldn't be THAT expensive. Just saying. :P

Rachel Talalay posted this on her Tumblr account.  I get the bloodhound reference but the shark refers to something unknown....

We have seen some graffiti, quite soon in the beginning. Or I've dreamt it.

No, I haven't

Aha -- there's the shark again.  I'm guessing that the shark represents the new villain.  (Was he ever referred to thusly in canon?)  And I suppose the bloodhound is Sherlock, tracking him down.

Added:  Culverton Smith is not referred to as a "shark."  But didn't "our" Sherlock and/or the canonical Holmes refer to CAM that way?  Oh dear....

CAM was referred to as a shark by Sherlock in HLV

and that definitely is Denver on the Tshirt (or one of his stand ins).  Hey - who is John Smith of YouTube???  and why do his videos have the BBC One stamp on them?

:applause: Good memory!!!!!!!

Is that the name of the bloodhound from the marketplace?

"Shark" made me think of CAM too, but I can't imagine the connection. If I were the crew, however, I would stay out of the water while they're filming on the beach.

Shark had me thinking of Magnussen too. Especially since he's compared to a snake in the original and the shark is, as far as I know, a Sherlock-specific change.

The dog could stand for Sherlock himself (often compared to a bloodhound in canon) or for Redbeard. Which reminds me that Magnussen mentioned Redbeard in His Last Vow. Hm...

I do hope Magnussen is truly dead. But of course his death could have repercussions relevant to series 4.

But they showed Redbeard as an Irish Setter, so I can't quite make the connection there with a bloodhound either. 'Tis all very mysterious ... (Mystery, bah! I thought this was supposed to be a show about a detective, not a detective show! :d )

If Magnussen isn't dead, and Moriarity isn't dead (and we know Sherlock wasn't dead) then this officially becomes "Sherlock - the show of the undeaded" in my book.

Kinda the opposite of Game of Thrones, if I understand what I've read.

This morning i encountered a gorgeous young man who struck me as the stylish sort. He had one of those short beards that looks about one day past forgot-to-shave. And he was wearing his hair in exactly the same style that John does now, only with at least twice as much tonic / oil / whatever they call it these days.

Somehow it worked on him (I did say he was gorgeous, remember?), but even so, I remember the last time that hairdo was in style (and I know some guys who've been wearing their hair that way ever since), so to me it simply looks hopelessly out of date. Which I suppose makes it retro and/or camp. Which I still contend makes it totally unsuitable for good ol' faithful John Watson. But at least he isn't using that much oil on it, so maybe I should shut up and count my blessings.

It does seem like an odd choice, doesn't it? Like he's suddenly not a soldier-doctor anymore. Which is silly (it's just a hairstyle!) but I still find it jarring. I've decided it's their way of having a laugh on fans like me who were soooooooo worried Sherlock wouldn't have his curls.... ("Mwuahaha, we'll change John's hair instead!")

Martin's role in the American tv show "Start Up" had him in that hair do earlier this eyar.  I wonder if he insisted on keeping during the Sherlock filming cuz he has to go back to filming Start Up or cuz he just liked it?  In either event... both male leads have the fans (and themselves?) focused on their hair dos.  Interesting.  Hairlock!

You wouldn't think it would be that hard to switch between those two hairstyles, though, would you?

I've wondered about that. He also had that style for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, which I believe filmed first. Not sure about Captain America.

Arcadia, as I recall, it's on cable or something. Figure I'll wait till it comes out on DVD.
