Y'know what the weird thing is (for me, at least)?  With the original series and the original-cast movies, if I can't think of the title, I'll say "the one where...."  Which is to say, I remember the plots pretty well, and did even back when I'd seen each episode or movie only a time or two.  But with these new movies, I just don't seem to retain the plots worth a damn.  So I think of them as "the first one," "the one with Khan," and -- umm, I guess "the new one."

Trying to think why.  It may be all the noise and frantic activity, which make it hard for me to notice the actual plot (though I assume there is one).

This the one where they blow up the Enterprise at the beginning. :D

Jason Bourne. 9.5/10

A bit of recency bias of course.

This is probably one of the best action movies or the best. Riots, car chases, unarmed combats but not mindless Transformer style (yikes), but smartly done. There is no a dull moment. Not once! The budget must be tremendous.

Although I really need refreshments of previous trilogy, I'm quite amazed of how they managed to sustain the story lines throughout the years.

And whoever thinks that Matt Damon is too old for this, don't worry, he still doesn't like to be touched.

P.S maybe I have to learn to ride my bike up and down the stairs, it seems pretty useful.

I agree on the 9.5/10 I saw it with my sister when it opened then had a coupon allowing me to see it just about for free and I enjoyed it the second time just as much.

Watched Our Kind of Traitor, with Gatiss as British government. :p But he is not the reason I watched it.

Anyway, there is almost no action, the characters other than the main are undeveloped, there are so many plot holes, the story lines are jagged, but I quite enjoyed it with Ewan Mcgregor (he always gives genuine vibe eventhough he has that creepy smile on his imdb picture :p) and Stellan Skarsgard. 7/10

The judge - 7/10

Was really nice to see Robert Downey Jr. not in an Iron Man suit. (Don't get me wrong I like Marvel and I think RDJ is the perfect choice for Iron Man and he's doing a really good job as Iron Man, in fact, he IS Iron Man.) It was just great to see him as a different character. And believe me he delivered a great performance as well as Robert Duvall. My gosh this guy can act. He even received an oscar nomination for this performance.

Also Vincent D'Onofrio (he lately starred in Daredevil as the Kingpin and was incredible!) was great here. I think this guy gets way too less roles he is very very talented and I'd like to see him more often.

However 'The judge' is a great Drama with a good story and, I think I already mentioned it, great great acting.

Check it out. I mean, Iron Man defending the right hand of the Godfather, we don't see that every day.

I first saw him in Ally McBeal and absolutely loved him in that.  As I recall (it's been a while!) that was a very low-key role, but with lots of underlying emotion.  Yup, he's an actor, all right!

Hey, I remember liking Billy too although I only saw a bit of Ally McBeal. Billy right? I also remember him in one of Elton John's video clip (titled I Want Love, pretty sure it exists. Like that song although not a fan of Elton).

Agree he is s good actor, but.. he is no Sherlock.

According to YouTube, his character was named Larry.  (Went looking for a good clip of him, but apparently all they have is musical numbers.)  I just remember thinking he seemed awfully cuddly (not at all the super-hero type that he's playing nowadays).

I have to admit that the first time I ever heard of RDJ was when he was arrested for drugs. I do think he's a very good actor, though.

That's why he left Ally McBeal, even though his character was still going strong.

Aha, that's right, I remember that now.

I never could get into Ally McBeal. Tried; never jelled with me.

Larry! I checked and you are right.

How come I always sure it's Billy..

Sherlock's fault. I guess there are too many Billy in Sherlock.

@Tom Hank's

I think there is his movie, something volcano that I couldn't stand.

But I like most of them: The Terminal, Catch Me If You Can, Saving Private Ryan and Green Mile.

Ah yes I remember, Joe vs the Vulcano, also starring Meg Ryan. That one was odd, but I liked it. Big was cool. I mostly like the 80s comedys where is in. The Money pit was so funny.   The later things with Tom Hanks that I like are Cast away and The Da Vinci Code. Terminal is good, too.

True. "Billy" seems to be Moftiss's equivalent to Conan Doyle's James (two Moriarty brothers, any number of other "guest stars," and also what Watson's wife calls him, even though his name is John).

P.S.: I like most Tom Hanks movies, but will make an exception for Joe and the Volcano. It was OK, but I doubt I'll ever play that DVD again.

I've just finished watching "Princess Mononoke", I liked it very much! :)

The story is a bit sad, but it made me reflect a lot!

Oh, I loved Mononoke! Although I agree it was a bit sad. Miyazaki's movies always tend to have a bittersweet note, I think. I suspect that's one thing that makes them so good. Did you see Spirited Away?

Yes, I agree with you! Even if they are cartoons, I think they are more for adults than for children, beacuse they deal with deep themes, such as friendship, the 'war' between man and nature, individual growth and so on.

Not yet! Do you think it's beautiful? I'll watch it! :)

It wasn't what I expected at all, but I loved it. It's more light-hearted, in some ways. And very odd at times! I was fortunate enough to see it on a big screen, which was great.

Another one that I thought would be too childish but was absolutely lovely was My Neighbor Totoro. I need to watch that again, actually, I remember being completely enchanted by it.

I had my hands on his newest one (can't remember the name at the moment) but I didn't have time to watch it before I had to return it. Rats.

Do you like Fullmetal Alchemist? I think that's my favorite anime to date (the first one, never could quite get into the "Brothers" one.) Talk about sad ... ouch! But funny as heck too.

Almost anything with Tom Hanks, 10/10.

Um... Nope. Disagree. The one where he plays the guy stuck at the airport? To me, that was awfully disappointing (not his fault, though. He is of course a great actor.)

Don't think I've seen that one.  Or maybe even heard of it.  Anybody know the title?
