I see what you mean about the moving, flashing images. Gah. But what always bogs me down is the leaps in logic. All I got out of that was it's true because they say it is. :(

I kinda thought so too (though I wondered if I might be missing some logical connection due to the flashing distractions).  Yeah, would be nice if they'd insert the occasional "I find it conceivable that..." or "It's not beyond the realm of possibility that...."

Sigh... I feel sad that some people are apparently so unhappy with the ending of the show that they need to cling to the hope of some missing piece. It must suck to feel so let down by a series you love.

Let's see what happens on 8th of March.

I mean, what happens in the fandoom, not that I believe there is something still to come. The third world war is more possible someday soon than anything Johnlock-ey (or even not Johnlock-ey) coming from Mofftiss.

I'd feel a little more sorry for them if they weren't so willful about it. I know what it's like to be let down by something you love, but I drawn the line at subsequently attacking it as garbarge just because it didn't go the way you wanted. And I can't help but be annoyed by the attitude that they were "promised" something.

Although I know it's not fair of me to lump everyone who believes some of this stuff into one, monolithic "them." Probably at least a few are more deserving of sympathy than I give them. The youngest ones, especially. Life deals out a lot of sucky lessons, and it won't end here. :(

Aiz, how I wish I knew a bunch of good puns just to torture you.

Well, it fits with the spirit of fandoom; torture your peers. :angel1::angel2:

Anyway, those predictions; I am speechless. I have no speech. I am without speech.

It seems to be the nature of discourse in lots of areas today.  People go from zero to ragingly offended with almost no middle ground.  The ability to see nuance and multiple perspectives seems to be eroding quickly.

That's one thing I appreciate about this forum, and I was telling my husband so last night.  I love having new people come in and discuss, but I also like the fact that there are so many people here who have been around for months or years.  That means that we start to know each other's perspectives pretty well, and we can say things like "I know you don't normally ship Sheriarty (or whatever), but I thought this essay on it was interesting," or whatever, and everyone seems to be willing to discuss things without absolutely blowing a gasket.

So maybe you'll get a birthday present :P

What I meant was that there was an ominous poster very prominently shown in TLD, with the text going like: A secret will be revealed, and the day was 8th of March. It's also the international Women's Day, but I doubt it has any significance.

We'll see. Note to self: buy extra popcorn. tr-candy-eat.gif

Thanks, Boton. I almost hate to say the words, but in the end, it is just a television show. What's there to get worked up about? I come here for fun and relaxation, not to battle anybody. Besides, fiction is great because if someone has a totally different opinion on it from me (or you), it doesn't change reality at all. Like, I can get upset over people with radically different political views from mine because as voters, activists, lobbyists or politicians, they can alter the reality I live in and make it worse. But if you interpret a film, a book, a series, whatever, differently than I do, it doesn't change the thing itself, so I can afford to just nod respectfully and then continue enjoying my version.

You can't really say something like that and expect a natural-born devil's advocate to just let it lie there, now can you?  :P

I feel obligated to say that "they" would presumably say the same thing about you.  And also, no matter which faction gets to implement their programs, the outcome is likely to be a mix of what they actually intended to achieve and what happened instead (because they overlooked certain factors), and therefore (from your point of view) a mix of good and bad.  (That's one reason I don't often get too worked up about politics.)

... there was an ominous poster very prominently shown in TLD, with the text going like: A secret will be revealed, and the day was 8th of March.

... which is now tomorrow (or today, depending on where y'all live and when you read this).  Logically speaking, the poster might be a clever reference to A] something in our real world, or to B] something in Sherlock's universe, or to C] some combination of the two (or to D] nothing in particular).  If it''s B, then I suspect we're unlikely to find out what it is tomorrow.  If, however there's any bit of A involved, then it seems possible, perhaps even probable that we will, which raises the question, What is it?

Apparently the die-hard TJLCers believe it'll be an airing of S4E4 (wherein Johnlock is revealed to be true), but that strikes me as unlikely.  Why would the BBC air a show that millions of viewers would love to see -- without letting those people know?  (Sorry, I don't believe the poster counts, because surely the vast majority of those millions rely on the BBC's schedule for that sort of information.)

What else might it be, then?  Possibly the BBC / Hartswood will jointly announce that another special and/or a fifth series has been commissioned.  (Wherein Johnlock might of course be revealed as the truth.  Who knows?)  I don't expect any such announcement this soon, so I would be pleasantly surprised -- but I would certainly not be gobsmacked.

What other possibilities are there?

What other possibilities are there?

Nothing?

Life goes on. No extra episode. World doesn't end although it still sucks. Trump continues to be funny... etc..etc...etc...

Sometimes I save a screenshot when something is interesting, and I remember having this taken not long after TLD aired.

It's a comment from Moffat regarding the secret episode. It could be BBC, not very sure, it's a link I got here. Since I hardly follow any link, it's probably something from Alex's link that I remember clicking somewhere in TLD thread, and rabbit-holed to this article.

I'd say he is very frustated in there, and to be honest, so do I.

Just checked Twitter.  Doesn't seem to be much Sherlock content except Women's Day, and that's no surprise, it's always March 8th, right?

'Course, the poster didn't say which year....

No movement detected either. I'm almost disappointed. All that popcorn…

But it's maybe because I got rid of annoying people on my time-lines.

Nope.  It's now the 9th in the UK, and I just checked Twitter with no filters except #sherlock.  There's been nothing more than the usual chit-chat.

If I'd been Moftiss today, I'd've been sorely tempted to post some outrageous rumor, just because.  Glad they restrained themselves!

Yah, as much as it would be fun, I think they are sick of the accusations or whatever name calling they had endured.

So, what's next? New date?

And I thought I read somewhere in the forum that there'll be new con. But if they don't have new materials, what would they do?

Okay, I guess there are a lot of things to talk about.

So I have answered my own question and contribute nothing to society. XD

Er ... huh? Women's Day is Sherlock content? (And this Women's Day is an annual thing? First time I've even heard of it. Must be a male conspiracy ....)

There were a bunch of posts by the female cast and/or crew members, basically saying Hurray for Women!!!!

This sort of thing kinda puzzles me.  I mean, what would anyone think if the male cast/crew members posted stuff saying Hurray for Men!!!!  Wouldn't that be considered sexist?  So how come....?

Because it's women who traditionally have been the oppressed, not men?

Yes, I realize that's the rationale.  But it seems to me that it'd make more sense to encourage women and girls as individuals, rather than all this rah-rah.  Because it *is* sexist.
