I consider myself half American, and I'm still amazed and jealous at the amount of snow Americans get. It's snowed in Baltimore about thirty times in the past month. And you think of the UK as generally colder. I suppose 'milder' would be a better term. Milder summer, milder winter.

Right, that's my impression too.  Compared to Indiana, London's weather is much less extreme.  Even though London is much further north, I've seen things growing there, unprotected, that would never survive an Indiana winter -- fuchsia bushes, buddleas the size of small trees, even a loquat on the South Bank.  But London is generally much cooler in the summer -- I always take plenty of "layers" to wear.

As for the snow this winter, we've had it too (finally melting -- yay!), and it's unusual.  Neither Baltimore nor Indiana generally gets this much snow this early in the season.  I shudder to think what January will be like!

Still no snow here. I don't like snow much (I hate it, to be honest) but I can somehow tolerate it between Christmas and New Year. So I wish it would snow at least a bit. I'm at my parents' now (quite far away from Prague) so at least there is no fog here.

Hey, Jana, if I'd known you wanted it, I'd have sent you some of ours before it all melted.  Too late now!!  ;)

But hopefully you'll get some of your own before long!

All of ours has melted, and it's been in the 60s for the past three days. Very odd Christmas weather...

Is your electricity working, Fox?  I see that a lot of folks in your part of the country are without at the moment.

Happy Christmas everyone! (well for some of us it's still Christmas Eve but oh well...)

The weather here (in my city) has been, yeah, mild. A bit of rain every now and then. But in London at the moment there's just been a huge (huge by British standards, which...isn't actually that huge) storm which wrecked about ten million trees (well no but a lot) and flooded some of the airport's power systems. I kept wondering why they didn't have emergency power...:D

We lost power for six hours, and phone and internet connect for over 24 but everything seem to be back to normal. Clear but cold with not much melting going on.

Christmas was very good. Family, friends, and good food. Got two Sherlock Holmes books, "How to Think Like Sherlock Holmes" and "Sherlock Puzzles". Watson and Sherlock give you a case and you have to solve it. Real exercise for my poor old brain.

Glad to see that you're back with us, Fox -- a belated Merry Christmas to you!  :xmas:

You're still well within the traditional "twelve days" -- it's not even New Year's yet.  :xmas:

Now if there was a like button for the forum as a whole, that would be brilliant about now.

Incidentally, If anyone has issues with the snow slowing down their computers there is a way to turn it off. All you have to do is click on the link at the bottom left of every page that says "Change Theme" and select Deviant 3 (No Snow)
