My two favourites are:

"The Big Fish" and "O, Lucky Man!"

I guess the latter is not very popular, still for me it's the best one.

I made the mistake of watching "The Sixth Sense" with Sherlock once, two minutes in he shouts "He's a GHOST" and turns it off.

Oh...erm. Sorry. But you know me. And come on, you've got to admit it was perfectly obvious! No one can survive being shot twice like that. Unless you're The Doctor, and I don't believe he was. That movie did remind me of The Doctor's adventures a lot. The thing about perception filters. The ghosts "only see what they want to see", and with perception filters it works the opposite way. At least I think. Been a while. Anyway...what is your favorite movie? Or do you have more than one favorite? :sherlock2:

I should really add The Hobbit and The Avengers to my list...

Posted

I take it y'all are referring to the recent super-heroes movie, rather than to John Steed and Mrs. Peel?

Posted

I think of that Avengers as a TV series not a film. I never saw the film and plan to keep it that way, only 1 John Steed and Mrs Peel for me.

How to Train Your Dragon

Gift of the Night Fury

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

The Hobbit

Kingdom of Heaven

The Forbidden Kingdom

The original silent film The Sea Hawk

OK, now I'm really confused! What is it that you just added to your favorite-movies list?

Sorry, Fox -- I was already typing when you posted, and my question was actually meant for aely. ( I have now clarified my question.)

Posted

Nope -- mine! I thought of quoting aely in the first place, but got lazy.

I haven't seen many films (especially "adult" films), but my 3 favourite "childrens" (AKA 12As) are:

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (as my name clearly states)

The Hobbit

The Hunger Games

I don't like ANY U rated and some PGs are ok. 12As are the best for me :)

Does Parades End count as a film?

Posted

I think it's advertised as a mini series. I do know that the full series is now available on DVD so I don't know how that is being marketed.

Posted

Well, if it counts as a film, that's my favorite at the moment.

Did somebody actually list "Breakfast on Pluto" here? That is a great film!

I also like: Gilbert Grape, Good Will Hunting, The Perks of Being a Wallflower (one of the rare good literary adaptations out there, maybe because the author did it himself), Matrix (but only the first one - why oh why did they continue that?), Brokeback Mountain

A few of my favourite films:

Lotr trilogy

The Hobbit

Harry Potter (I like all of them but the best for me is probably The Prisoner of Azkaban)

King's Speech

Pirates of the Carribean (except the last one)

X men (except First Class)
