What, are those real. XDD I laughed so much, thank you for making my day...

Where you can find those kind of signs?

Some of them could easily be real, but I'm pretty sure most of them are jokes. Aren't they?

I certainly hope so.

Yes I guess some are real, some are jokes, some are just clueless translations. (And that is actually a whole new world of amusement).

I did some creative work in a zoo before and put a lot of fun signages. Can't remember them much, but there is one about 'Unattended children will be locked up in cage and displayed for public.' Something along that line.

Eh, wait,.. no, that one is not meant as joke. :p

Guys, you can take a patronus test on pottermore! I got a piebald stallion!

I got wolf, am I Remus Lupin's long-lost cousin? :D

Posted

Mine is ... a salmon? Okay, I am a Pisces (and I love salmon, to the point that I probably am part salmon considering how much I've eaten ), but wouldn't that Patronus have problems on land, or can it kinda swim through air, as the animation would suggest?

That test was beautifully made, though. -_- Overall, the new Pottermore site is a beautiful creation (except that it placed me into [censored] Gryffindor, again, not that I'm surprised at this point).

Really? What House you want then? :D Perhaps The Hat can be persuaded to follow your wish.

Afaik you can only take the test once, not that it matters ... it's a bit of a running joke with me that, whenever I take a House test, no matter when or where, I end up in Gryffindor. Even that Ilvermorny test put me in House Thunderbird, which is apparently the local equivalent. Combine that with the fact that I, like quite a few of the Gryffindors in the book, am not particularly brave, and the old in-joke that Gryffindor is in fact the "leftover" house for students that are too dumb for Ravenclaw, too lazy for Hufflepuff and too unmotivated for Slytherin ("Let's call them ... how about brave? That sounds good and is hard to measure") ...

 If it is any consolation, Albus 'The Mastermind' Dumbledore was a Gryffindor. Btw, found the meaning of patronuses:

https://www.quotev.com/story/3671161/Patronuses-and-Meanings/1

Horse:

Dance, emotional intelligence, freedom, wisdom. Horse people often find a happy balance between strong social and family ties and a fiercely independent streak. Horse medicine is full of gentle healing, nurturing care, and a sense of freedom of body and mind.

Salmon:

Strength, determination, renewal Salmon people are often known for their dependability, wisdom, and strong sense of tradition. Salmon medicine teaches the value of being in tune with the cycles of the earth, skies, and our own bodies.

Wolf:

Wolf people tend to revere individualism, but retain a predominant sense of family. Wolf as a totem represents all aspects of sociability, and the need for variety (in internal and external affairs) to remain healthy. Wolf is a strong symbol of loyalty and patience. Wolf medicine is deeply rooted in the importance of learning through teaching, new ideas, freedom of mind and body, and responsibility for self and others.

So there are only three options?

Not sure but based from the very limited options for every 'question', they only prepared a few.

I want to know my potranus (sp) but too lazy to register, so I decide I want to be an octopus. Euh, the write up are:

Octopus: don't disturb them. When we run out of ink, we use venom.

Inspiring and insightful things I read yesterday.

Toy Smuggler

Father-of-six smuggle toys and hand them out to children living through a war that is older than many of them.

Can you imagine living through war all your life? Well, they can't imagine us living in peace as well.:(

And this, want cheaper and more fun alternative to get rid of kidney stone? Maybe riding a roller coaster?

Roller coaster and kidney stone

The leftover house? Are you SURE it's not about Hufflepuff? Because Hufflepuff is mostly the subject of mockery.

So there are only three options?

This website has a list of the patronuses so far http://www.mugglenet.com/2016/09/complete-list-pottermore-patronuses-far/

That's the official version, and I think Rowling put it into one of the later books (she wasn't too fond of Gryffindor mockery :D). However, many in the fandom (at least back then when I was a part of it, ca. books 3 and 4) think it doesn't make a lot of sense. Intelligence, ambition, diligence, those are comparatively easy to measure, at least when compared to bravery. What makes a person brave - who is braver, the one jumping from the higher diving board who isn't particularly afraid of heights, or the one jumping from the lower who fears every step even there? Plus, while no one doubts the bravery of the protagonist trio, there are several classmates of theirs who never showed any particular bout of bravery, so how did they end up in Gryffindor? And that's where the inofficial theory comes in. :P

I always assumed the Hat would put me in Ravenclaw (assuming that I had any shred of wizarding ability, that is) -- but every test I take puts me in Hufflepuff. So I'm perfectly happy to subscribe to Martina's theory.

(Well, actually, the Pottermore quiz put me in Griffindore, which makes me wonder if they put *everyone* in Griffindore!)

*grins* Gryffindor always strikes me to be the House of SP and SJ.

Gryffindor - SP & SJ

Hufflepuff - SJ & NF

Ravenclaw - NF & NT

Slytherin - NT & SJ

Posted

Possibly, but I'm INT-P/J (almost midway) so I should be in Slytherin according to that table, which would've doubtlessly delighted past me, but I've never been sorted as such (and frankly, that test would strike me as faulty, as "ambitious" is about the last word someone would use to describe me -_-).

Posted

J & P scores nearly balanced probably end up in Ravenclaw rather than Slytherin, lol.

Posted

As I recall from the books, sorting was NOT an automatic routine (analogous to typing a person's blood). A student might be well suited to more than one house (e.g., the hat wavered between appointing Harry to Gryffindore and Slytherin, with the decision having been his choice). Several students seem to have been sorted unsuitably -- Hermione comes across as more of a Ravenclaw, for example, and Neville strikes me as a good example of a Hufflepuff.

If the MBTI types are assumed to exist in an a priori sort of way, then there can be no absolute correspondence between the two systems -- however, that assumption is open to debate.

I see that there could be tons of result (70+) for the patronus, so I was intrigued and signed up to try and got crow. (No octopus!)

I wonder how it works, there is a very few questions and the many choices are not applicable to me.

Destruction eh? He he..

Since I was there, tried the Hat one and got Slyterin. I remember last time I tried Harry Potter quiz I got Ravenclaw.

Didn't have time to read it all, and didn't really like the explanation as if the writer is from Slyterin and try to defend the result, so I skip.

From my limited knowledge (didn't read last two books) Slyterin has negative reputation? At least that is what indicated in first few books, if I remember correctly. And someone mentioned ambitious? But I am not ambitious at all.

I do associate Sly with no BS, not sure when I get it from.

I had to sign up again, because I had signed up on their original website, and they couldn't retrieve my forgotten password and email it to me. OK, so did that, and they started the patronus test, but then I couldn't get any of my responses to register. I thought they said to drag my choice somewhere, but apparently I don't know how to drag on a cellphone. Either that, or I misread the directions. Help?
