Not to be naggy, but please can we stop it snowing? I liked it for Christmas but it's February now and it's distracting. :(

Was Sherlock trolling Miss Piggy on Twitter discussed anywhere?

Posted

Not sure I get all of it. Something about Miss Piggy saying she wanted to be cast as a femme fatale, and Sherlock saying he was in the bath with Kermit?

"No snow" request noted and passed along.

Just go to the bottom of any page and click on Change Theme. From the drop-down menu choose either IP.Board (NS) or Deviant 3 (NS). The NS stands for No Snow.

Personally, I like the snow, because I can tell when a page is fully loaded. Maybe Tim can make a new theme called IP.Board (Snow), available year-round!

That's correct.

I have to admit, in my various theories about Sherlock's sexual proclivities an affair with Kermit wasn't among them. :D

Hey, maybe we could have flowers in spring, and butterflies in summer, and leaves in fall... pretty please? :d

Cool!  The spring flowers could be cherry blossoms -- which actually do fall gently down, rather like snowflakes.

I love that scene from the bloopers with BC and MF in the kitchen cracking up, because they look so much like John and Sherlock in that scene I can imagine it just them in their kitchen. I can never figure out of it's MF that BC is calling sweetheart at the beginning of it or not.

It's the scene that starts at 1.49

so funny :D

Do you think BC is calling MF sweetheart? I'm not saying it in a nudge nudge wink wink Freebatch kind of way, just curious if anyone else thinks he does.

In other news, does anyone have any suggestions for this delightful problem I just got home to? My cat has managed to get one of those thin plastic ties they puts tags on new clothes with stuck in her mouth. I have no idea where she got it from, can't for the life of me figure out how it's stuck, and because I live alone trying to hold her, prise her mouth open, and get a good look is not exactly easy without extra hands. I'm guessing I'll have to take her to the vet first thing tomorrow, but I'm worried she might choke in the night - do you think I should try to trim the bit sticking out of her mouth or will that make her more likely to choke because the bit in her mouth will be smaller...?

I am sorry for your cat and you must take it to vet. Is there any night-vet in your place?

I don't know about BC/MF. I think BC is married but why not? It could be.

I'm not saying it means anything if he does, I definitely don't think there's anything going on there, some people just do call each other sweetheart. Though I admit it might be unusual between two men the acting world is pretty different to the everyday world - for example I can't imagine two builders doing it.

Nope, only emergency vets and that's more if it's a life or death situation. Hopefully she'll be fine until tomorrow.

I hope she'll be fine.

I can't imajine, too.

I've always assumed he was saying "sweetheart" to Martin as a way of being a bit snide. :d

Have you tried wrapping kitty up in a blanket real tight so she can't move? That leaves both hands more free.

Also maybe just call one of the emergency places and see if they'll give you advice how to remove it over the phone ... one of our local vets will do that, the other won't. I wouldn't cut it shorter unless they say to. But I'm worried about her swallowing more of it.

I did try that, and she thrashed free, tried chewing my finger off, followed by a delightful attempted disembowelment. She's Siamese so she was also rather vocal in her displeasure. I think I'll leave it long and keep an eyeball on her, I can't see it getting loose, it's well and truly wedged. Bloody animals.

I know. My last two, I told they were welcome to live with me only if they stayed clear of the vet. But did they listen? Noooooo....... they must've thought I was made of money......

XD

Did you use them as experiment? :p

I haven't read enough to conclude, but quite horrified that Sherlock uses dog as experiment in the book, I think.

Glad kitty is settled, and Pseud, I suppose you don't loose any intestine, yes?

It's just impractical if you have to go around holding it so it isn't being dragged on the ground.

Anyway, luckily, my dog is very good such situation. I took lodged bone from his teeth, food stuck in ceiling of his mouth, untangled both his rear feet from scarily sharp and thin fishing nets, even pulled uncooperative crap out of his butt.

After initial effort to calm him down, which only took awhile, he let me 'fix' those.

Back then when we had problematic German Shepherd with skin problem, the treatment required us to brush open her wounds to apply medication. Brush open wounds! And it was a looooong treatment, took up months and fortunes (she also never read the memo) but she patiently let us did it and gave us thank you licks along the way.

That was the only dog that we bought, for guarding purpose, despite being the most cheerful, she had a lot of health problem, compared to the other 8 we adopted back then. I suspect, no, I'm sure, she was a product of puppy mills. We didn't know better. Until now I'm still sad for what she had to go through.

No, I'm actually lying in bed bleeding to death as we speak. I would ask you to send help, but I'm worried you'll just experiment on me or come watch my demise with a stop watch and a notebook.

I don't think I could brush open wounds, I'm incredibly squeamish. When I decided to get a dog a few years ago I was debating getting a pug, but when I read you had to clean out the wrinkles on their face with a cotton bud my stomach turned. I ended up getting a doberman, who was healthy and friendly but so boisterous I couldn't control her. She used to like to chase joggers across the beach

Does it help if I tell you that I probably don't need a stop watch? :p

I'm not good in dealing with wounds as well, but I had no choice. Everyone in family took turn taking care of that dog, even my youngest brother as he was the only one as home most of the time while the rest were working and in uni.

Clean out wrinkles? Good god! I like all dogs, but pug seems very impractical, not judging or stereotyping pugs :p, okay, a bit, the ones thay I encountered are mostly non athletic or energetic and bit of doofus, their short snouts give them problems with breathing and they are prone to eye injury, and have to clean their wrinkles? :D oh boy!

Why do you think I only ever have cats? :d
