We sat and devoured lobster for 2 hours, does that count?

My meal was gloomy but doesn't mean I'm not happy. :cowdance:

Don't you think we should have a party? As someone at IMDB put it very nicely:

5 years ago this weekend, 'Sherlock' was unleashed upon an unsuspecting world.

Definitely party time!  :applause:  And we can have another party on, umm, October 24th (for the PBS premiere) -- and another when Sherlock premiered in Germany, and so on.  Never pass up a good opportunity for a party!

:violin3:   :cowdance:    :birthday:

As usual, I can only offer tea.

Bring your own eyeballs.

Only found Sherlock for half a year. (lucky me)

It's worth waiting for good stuff, but doesn't mean I have to be sane.

7 months minus 2 days. Feels longer though.

Eyeballs? No problem. I have plenty. :D

Doesn't seem enough for everyone.

Anyway, I hope you are all still here when we finally get next series.

One for an active member? Should be enough. There are further 22 in use right now, so I have a reserve if needed. theyes.gif

A doll-maker? ^^

Not maker. I wished. I've got infected by Asian BJD dolls not so long ago. Mostly doing things for them, trying to paint faces. Not really having time and bandwith for the hobby right now, thanks to Mofftiss and Co. -_-

But are they still tasted okay with element of surprise?

4. The awkwardness of kissing a fellow glasses wearer.
They forgot 4b. The awkwardness of kissing anybody while trying not to get their noseprints on your glasses.  And/or the awkwardness of trying to be casual about taking your glasses off, just in case they might feel like kissing you sometime soon (hopefully before you trip over anything).

6. Feeling "phantom" glasses when you don't have them on.
Oh, good -- I'm not the only one!  But they forgot 6b, poking yourself in the eye while attempting to push up your phantom glasses.

9. Your friends saying, "Wow, you're blind" whenever they try on your glasses.
I read a good comeback somewhere, years ago:  Oh, I don't really need these -- I just wear them to see with.

11. Finally giving in and getting the glasses lanyard.
Like Larry Grayson!

Sparkly lanyard as fashion statement, fine stainless steel chain studded with Swarovski crystals. Or maybe for Sherlockian, a lightweight charm like sfmpco's bracelet. :D

What about flexible bungee that can propel you halfway back from rooftop in any case of miss-stepping.

Sounds elaborate and...familiar.

I've just been introduced for the first time as "Grandpa's sister."   We ran into my oldest niece at the grocery store, and she was reminding her four-year-old son who I am.  (She had started off with "my Aunt Carol," which doesn't sound nearly as ancient!)

A nice place for a fan meet-up. :)

It's the third location.

Shoot, I thought you were going to suggest your place at Baker Street.

Middle age, sister mine. Comes to us all.

Nope -- just to us lucky ones!  :D

The response I get is your prescription is weak.  (My eyes are slightly worse than 20/50 with my left eye slightly worse than my right eye with my right eye having astigmatism.)

I take it that's 20/50 without your glasses?  Lucky girl!  I'm about 20/30 with glasses -- and that's in my good eye!  But I know people whose vision is far worse (and uncorrectable), so I'm not complaining.

I have no idea what my prescription is as far as glasses go.  My contacts are both -3.50, with an astigmatism in my right eye.  Joy.

My optometrist when I was a kid was quite the comedian.  He used to jokingly ask at each appointment, "Do you want the good news or the bad news first?"  Good news was always that my vision was stable, bad news was that my vision still sucked.   :P
