For John:

This one (from the Adobe Summit) is quite scary, especially if taken out of context.

Don't want EVER to see this in RL. duck.gif

I thought it was one of the funniest parts of the footage...don't ever take unsolicited photos and it won't happen!

What was the context of that gif?  I never got around to watching the Adobe Summit.   :embarrassed:

That's his reaction if he sees people sneaking photos of him, without asking first.

The summit is actually really worth watching.

And if Ben won't stop talking about himself as dumb, the next time I'll see him in person I will surely punish2.gif him.

Does he really?!?!

Well, I suppose it's all relative.  I don't really know him, but he doesn't seem dumb and I highly doubt he is from what I've read about him.  I mean, is he Sherlock smart?  No.  But who is?  lol.  Not many.

He seems to be a somewhat self-deprecating person, though, yes?  I know I've heard him mock his appearance before, saying he does in fact resemble an otter.

I can't knock him for being self-deprecating.  I'm the queen of that!

I mean, what (and how) he says in such interviews shows him not only as educated, but also intelligent person - you need a certain level of brains to give answers like he does, unless the whole thing was prepared and rehearsed beforehand.

Yupp, "eloquence" was the word I wanted to use but couldn't find...

(but sometimes a bit verbose!)

I really enjoyed that summit thing, I'm still not sure why HE was there, but he was both smart and funny, which you don't always find in the same package. (And I guess I just answered my own question; that's why he was there! :) )

As long as what he says makes sense it's okay. I only wish he would speak more clearly (acustically)

As for why he was there? Maybe as a bite ;)

Seriously, his story was a good example of how social media influence change lifes of all of us - as celebrities or as... erm... celebrators. "Everyone is a walking publisher". I would ad: an INSTANT walking publisher, as you don't even have to sit down at your desk, as it was the case several years ago.

BTW, we've got carried away again...

I couldn't figure out the reason Adobe booked BC either (except, if you can book BC, he's easier on the eyes than most CEO-speakers you could have gotten).  But then I realized:  a lot of the people connected to Adobe are part of the design and advertising worlds, and they consider themselves to have as much or more in common with artists as they do with business people.  And, many of them have a certain amount of desire to flip the bird to conventionality, so who better to give them the example than a classically trained actor who also swears like a sailor when needed?  [i'm being slightly tongue in cheek with that last statement.]

But in all seriousness, I would like to know the number of design professionals who didn't really know BC before the Summit (or vaguely knew he was Khan, or something) who now have that gif of him flipping the bird as their desktop wallpaper.

Easier on the eyes or not, he's also just plain more entertaining. But yeah, I think it was supposed to have to do with how social media affects celebrity, etc., since he's "famous" for avoiding social media. Something like that. He sort of ran over the interviewer, didn't he? Lord knows what they were really supposed to discuss!

Anyway, to get us back on track, here's a picture of BC being all photogenic and stuff .....

I kind of feel like who doesn't curse like a sailor these days in the entertainment industry?
