I've honestly never seen 2 people so much in love and boy, what a  bevvy of talent!

Just something else to make us all wish we lived in London.

The timing was particularly annoying for me...I arrive in London on Thursday.

Same as the Sherlocked Convention...it's on the weekend after I leave London!

I don't think I ever would have expected an older lady to take his nose. Most interesting experiment.

So any guesses as to the chance that this video will be brought up in an interview for Benedict's thoughts on the matter.

Yes, and yes!

Me, I have a guess! :p My guess is it depends on how long before he does another interview.....

Probably everyone assumed they were the first to think of licking the statue.  Silly assumption.  I don't even use drinking fountains any more, after seeing some people suck on them.

This foreshadows the fate of fandom. We will all look like the lady when the S5 is finished. :P

Dear J.P. at the glacial pace they are moving, we will all be in our fifties before S5 airs, if at all, and the characters will be well into their sixties, so as the playful villain would have said, "Well, good luck with that!" The one thing I can compare the creators to is the slow, inexorable process of the fire ants from Mexico to the States, gaining a few metres each time!

Blech about sums up licking that choco statue where others have licked.  Serious blech.

Really?  :applause:  In that case, I hope they just keep airing S5 over and over and over....  :D

See, they missed their chance.  A big choco-Ben is fine for PR, but they could have made a fortune making popsicle-sized mini-Bens.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I have friends who think Mr. Cumberbatch looks "weird." Other friends think he is handsome. I call him beautiful, especially when he's being goofy.

There is only one thing we all agree on; he is not as good looking as that guy Yusree! :P

Most of his works are available on DVD, which is good.  Just pace yourself on the collecting because there are a LOT of them.

Don't be ashamed.  I'd never heard of him until Star Trek, and then I watched Sherlock and realized how much I liked his acting.  Only then did I start watching the movies he'd been in before.

Some of his parts are quite small and some of them are very different from Star Trek and Sherlock, so it's interesting to see how his career has gone.

My first intro to Benedict was Amazing Grace so when I saw ads for Sherlock between S2 & S3 I was going there's the guy who played William Wilberforce's friend in Amazing Grace not realizing that I had heard him as Smaug in the first 2 Hobbit movies by that point. I'd put Benedict as handsome & I like it when he's being goofy. It's a side that is not seen as much with actors who aren't comedians as well.

Hmmm... There is this thing with attraction. Because I do believe that success makes men attractive to women. We are just wired that way by evolution. Makes sense if you see it from a perspective of spreading your genes. So I don't think I can be fully objective. :)

My first impression? Strange. Unusual. A face where every element seems to be in the wrong place. A head that's a little bit too big, funny profile and tiny underbite... But once get used to this, you will see the beauty that's behind plain physicality. I don't know how to name it. Some people just have this kind of light in them. Elegance, grace - if he wants it. Voice. The unusual eyes. Hands. There are photos where he looks ugly, though. Hope to have an opportunity to see for myself and make my own opinion. :D

He has a talent to use every single muscle of his face and the range of his voice. I do pay attention to it now watching movies - compared to him, most actors' faces are like masks, where not much happens, while I watched Sherlock in slow motion just to catch all those quick changes in expression.

And of course once you have seen him goofing around, you just cannot dislike him.

Ben is nominated for a BAFTA again for Sherlock!

And Sherlock is up for the Radio Times Audience Award (which is apparently announced along with the BAFTAs).  Here's the complete list of nominees.

I don't think much of anyone had specifically noticed him before Sherlock.  I had never even heard of him (though I do remember seeing his mother in Doctor Who, The Avengers, and The Prisoner).  But he certainly has gotten everyone's attention as Sherlock Holmes!
