Not sure if Ben won a Jupiter Award for best acting or if Sherlock won an overall award... but Ben did an acceptance speech for it which you can find if you scroll down this page...

Looking at the award's website, it looks like it was for the series, Best International Series.

The poem he read;

[ "Richard" written by Carol Ann Duffy ]
"My bones, scripted in light, upon cold soil, a human braille.
My skull, scarred by a crown, emptied of history.
Describe my soul as incense, votive, vanishing; your own the same.
Grant me the carving of my name.

These relics, bless. Imagine you re-tie a broken string and on it thread a cross,
the symbol severed from me when I died.
The end of time – an unknown, unfelt loss –
unless the Resurrection of the Dead…

or I once dreamed of this, your future breath in prayer for me,
lost long, forever found;

or sensed you from the backstage of my death,
as kings glimpse shadows on a battleground."

I saw that.  I was kind of surprised (happily) to see that Narnia beat out puppies yesterday.  The animals and Lloyd the puppet are likely to be the tough contenders with Lloyd being on top.  I would like to see a Benedict/Lloyd showdown for the final.

Ben is cousin of Richard III? Well..

Sherlockandjohn, maybe we should start to practice curtsies.

Apparently 3rd cousins sixteen times removed.  However, I have also heard that there are about 1 million people in Britain related to RIII, so perhaps not so much should be made of BC's blood ties.

2nd cousin 16 times removed or something

I was kidding. :P

But seriously, there is a curious development I observe by myself: the longer I'm into the show, the more Sherlock and Ben become two different persons. It is probably just because I get to "know" them both better and just have more visual information to process. Anyway, they start to differ more and more. There are even pictures showing only a part of the face where you cannot see any hair but my brain says Sherlock or Ben, but never Ben as Sherlock. Funny thing - my brain. :D

My brain works the same way.  When I see Benedict dressed as Sherlock my initial thought is Sherlock not Benedict as Sherlock.  Any other role I've seen him in has been Benedict as insert character's name here.

If you go that far back, his lineage comes from the Beauforts, 1st Duke of Lancaster and all that! That means Philippe Le Bel of France, the dissolution of the Knights Templar, the beginning of the Hundred Years War, the Plantagenets, and with the Plantagenets comes Mummy Holmes in the guise of Eleanor of Aquitaine, wife of Henry II, mother to Richard I and King John, and apparently the whole of Europe through her daughters, never mind the White Rose of York and the Red Rose of Lancaster! Oh my ears and whiskers, and I had stopped researching his genealogy with his great-grandfather, the British Consul at Smyrna and his much more interesting grandfather, the submarine commander.

However, dear J. P., once sfmpco pronounced the portrait image you posted n o t photoshopped, I made it into my iPhone, MacBook and iPad Lockscreen image. My sincere thanks! Now, if only his hair had been its natural colour...

I would say that is true for me too... except in the photos I've seen of the Special.  So I will be interested to see how his old Sherlock comes out in full character in that getup.

Would you also say that his voice is different in Sherlock?

There is some difference in his voice at times. There's a certain professionalism to his Sherlock voice that's different than how he is in most interviews and conversations. The latter has a certain casualness while being completely professional. His Sherlock voice tends to be different from his other British characters. There's a certain connection with his Sherlock (& I think with Martin being his co-star as John factors in) that Benedict has that is different from his other roles that changes how he does his voicing.

Well, apparently the fridge was full with his collection of thumbs!

Seriously, though, his voice seemed its usual Sherlock level, BC can certainly talk fast, and his "serendipitous" was so in character!

Definitely fibbing, my thanks to both, dear sfmpco and J.P.
