Dear J.P., you are MY conductor of light and no mistake ^_^! The Venetian aristocrat is responsible for the first state lottery in France, for his Memoirs, which have very little to do with endless amorous adventures, in contrast to the Marquis de Sade, although both spent time in prison, for helping the Montgolfier brothers set up their hot-air balloon experiments and for creating the foundations of the Banque de France, much earlier than Napoleon, consorting with Cagliostro, a true denizen of the Enlightenment! By the way, "what he DiD in his lifetime", since he's long dead and buried.

:lol4:  Ya gotta love the English language, it sets traps for us all!

No, this has nothing to do with the language. I'm just assuming you all can read my thoughts :P

If it's any solace, I knew you meant Benedict not Casanova. :)

Me too!

Silly me thought it was about Casanova! BC has had a fairly busy acting life and the prerequisite fame attached to it hitherto! Long may it continue!

I think he probably spends a lot more time in a recording booth than any of us know.  It would probably be impossible to list everything he's ever narrated.

If we had a CV for every project Benedict was a part of among stage, screen, and sound booth, I would assume the CV would be multiple pages almost like a short story written on A4 paper.

This Cumberbatch guy's CV... Hmm... impressive.

Somehow I think his CV is longer than that. :)

Dear sfmpco,

You are a member of IMDb, parse it out, we are just laypeople conjecturing and extrapolating!

I daresay the IMDb would be incomplete. It's not likely to have all of his radio/voice over work.

I think at least TV loves me. Just served me "The Other Boleyn Girl", just at the wedding night scene that turned out not so romantic. ;)

Ben looks so boyish and so funny with a pancake on his head...

I have that on my shelf and have yet to watch it.

Well, there is not much of him in the whole movie, but the film itself wasn't bad.

Edited to add: went to YouTube for the original voice and noticed that the TV channel CUT HIS SCENES. The.... AAAAAARGH!

IMDB has some of his stage work, but not all. I wonder if some of his fan websites could have a full list. But somehow I doubt it.

I'm tempted to buy the book just to show my support for him (and then probably not read it, as I'm overly sensitive)....

I can't imagine what the ex-wife was thinking ....

The same here about buying the book.

...But then, there are thousands of people deserving support who don't have a generous and loving famous person as a friend...

Yeah, that was his point, wasn't it? Without money, fame, or connections, there is almost no hope for justice in a situation like that. It makes me want to scream. Bless him for using what he had to get his voice heard.

I'm thinking of buying the book.  It comes out May 28.  I prefer hard copies of books, so I'll opt for that rather than the downloadable Kindle version.

In the end, she did him a favor, in a way -- the court case and especially Mr. Cumberbatch's support have given the book far more publicity than it would likely have gotten otherwise.  If she has any sense, she's kicking herself right now!
