How it applies to Sherlock? That's easy -- "I will burn the heart out of you!" :moriarty:

The fire part sure, but would that also fit the spicy?

OK, then, how about "I will burn the heartburn out of you!"?

This one's not my obsession, but it's someone's ... every year the Washington Post runs a "Peeps Diorama" contest, with, as you might expect, ludicrous results. (For those not in the know, "peep's" are these horrible, pastel-colored, marshmallow bunnies always sold at Easter time. No one will admit to being able to eat them, so might as well make a diorama out of them!)

Sooooo... one of the entries this year was titled (wait for it) ... The Many Faces of Benedict Cumberpeep. Here it is....
uAkB3iV.jpg?1

Here's the text that went with it ....

Benedict Cumberpeep has been everywhere lately: Revealing national secrets, breaking the code to end World War II, flying off buildings as a high-functioning sociopathic detective, battling the heroes of “Star Peep,” and protecting his gold from peepits and dwarves as a fire-breathing peep. This diorama brings us the many faces of this heartthrob thespian as seen in a selection of his recent films.

Looks like maybe it made it to the third round in the Peep-le's Choice vote. Here's the link, but I'm not sure if you can access it unless you have a Post subscription.

I thought "Peeps" were the marshmallow chicks -- you know, as in "peep-peep."  OK, I checked and the logo is a chick, but the whole company is called Peeps (and they even sell T-shirts).  And I suppose the bunnies are better for role-playing.

So did I until they started running this contest! Oh well, what the peep.

BTW, did anyone else, while peeping, note that there is also a peep of Martin Peepman?

Peeps started out as chicks and has expanded their line to include bunnies and other entities in Marshmallow and not just around Easter anymore.

You're on here catching up for the day and are listening to the track Major Sholto on repeat (113 plays since I uploaded the songs from the CD to iTunes) and find yourself occasionally conducting along to the tempo and noticing some of the "slow" parts are not actually slow temp-wise.

You scrutinized makeup used in the series and wondered why no actor in SHERLOCK wore tinted lipbalm, then realized that Mark Gatiss shaded his lips Korean-drama's style.

Running from the Fire-breathing Peep, third from the left. You can tell by the way he's holding his sword. :P

Oh.  (I was hoping you meant he had his own diorama.)  I had never even noticed those little figures in the foreground, though viewing the image full size shows them very nicely.  So you're saying Martin Peepman is playing the little orange bunny?  Could be!

No, he's playing the peepit!

And you know that Ben's lips are always made up because he's got those natural outlines on his upper lip, and they are always covered up.

Still trying to figure out how they did his makeup when he was getting the urine test in the lab.

Maybe it was how he looks without makeup. The stage lights can be quite unforgiving, and I suspect his skin is not the easiest one for the makeup people. I also noticed that the foundation that is used on him sometimes seems to be too yellowish.

sfmpco, can you share your Sherlock-makeup-sources?

Make-up sources?  I have pics to prove the lip outline - something that apparently concerned BC a lot when it first appeared in his early 20s and he went to a specialist about it.  Turned out to be nothing, but it's always covered up.    Here's a fairly good example of the lines - and of his freckles... he's quite freckled and all that gets smoothed out for the alabaster look.

...When you seriously consider purchasing some Sherlock pins/buttons and applying them to your purse in hopes that someday, somewhere, another Sherlockian might recognize them and strike up a conversation....

CORRECTION:  When you give in and actually buy them.  And I did. *Face palm*

You would naturally expect freckles on any light-haired person, and I think his natural colour is auburn? The make-up teams are lucky the freckles are not more pronounced! One of my best friends is auburn-haired, and her face looks like a speckled egg, not to mention the SPF sunscreen consumption throughout the year.

Ostereier or simply free-range hen speckled eggs? Sorry, dear J.P. , that was quite as snarky as some of his worst quips! Please excuse the tone!

:O Could lemon facemask help on that kind of freckles?

OK, I have just done it and I have no excuse whatsoever! In a particular, intensive course, we are all rabid Sherlock and Star Trek fans, so when an extremely intelligent, natural blonde "live long and prosper" graduate political historian could not quite grasp the connection between the verb and the noun (prosperity), I quipped "Shut up, Effie, you lower the IQ of the whole class!"

Boton will understand that I went into abject apology mode the moment the words had been said; mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!

Everybody laughed, she joined in to show that there were no hard feelings, but they are under my care and protection as long as we're in class!

I should probably stop watching the series on a constant loop before I commit another offense, like one of Harry Potter's three unpardonable curses on my watch!
