Yes, I love that Sherlock moment, and my obsession is so bad that I had to use it for my avatar!

Definately can relate. Base on that, there is a crying need for a very gigatic gargantuan avatar space for me.

And yet you are using the moment when he returns to the flat and throws Mrs Hudson into a fit of hysterics, which is a direct copy -paste not only of the story The Empty House, but also of the Jeremy Brett series when he has locked himself out in The Noble Bachelor, so you have combined your fascination with the modern series with both the ACD universe and the best Victorian version! Excellent choice!

To be honest, I don't deserve that credit, because I haven't watched Jeremy Brett version. Really can't imagine non-Benedict Sherlock but I heard a lot of good review for that version. Maybe when I get bored rewatching this one... is there any Benedict's Sherlock patch sold out there for withdrawal?

Yes there is, but I have to dig up the image of it!  LOL

... when you are in London and expect the surveillance cameras to follow you.

... when you are in London and feel home.

... when you are in London and grin at almost everything, pink cases, cabs, policemen, the "mind the gap" in the underground...

... when you have a coffee at Speedy's and expect Sherlock in sheet come to pick some bagels.

... when you watch an episode of Poldark and recognize the Murder Cabbie in it - by his voice.

I've always loved "Mind the gap" -- and apparently everyone else has too, because there are T-shirts:

We have watch the gap here, but mind the gap sounds better.

When I was in London 15.5 years ago, 1 of my friends bought something (possibly a t-shirt) with Mind the Gap on it.  We had so many discussions and moments of laughter over hearing Mind the Gap every time we rode the tube (multiple times a day for 4 days).

Do it! :D You'll either get a laugh or harder stares, but either way it will be worth it!

And if someone says, "No you're not!"  Then you can say, "Well I'm not NOW!"

Scenes like that remind me of how much I adore this Sherlock.

Oh yes, especially the fun part about having to explain to your students why Americans, who make up the majority of fan fiction writers, say 'gotten' while the British have shortened it to 'got' ! Then you blame Sherlock and Downton Abbey in one breath and hope for the best!

Thanks, J.P. -- looks like most of those sites have the fleur-de-lis pattern in four colors, but apparently the Dark Chocolate is what's at 221B. Is that Dandelion pattern actually used on Sherlock? Where?

Talking about the hallway wallpaper, anyone contemplating buying that leaf pattern should actually go to a shop that sells the ugly stuff. It is grainy, textured, not smooth, perhaps because Mrs Hudson wants something she can wipe clean after her eccentric lodger's many explosive experiments, it is of an indifferent cream background with the leaf motif done in drab olive green. It also seems to be a London favourite, since the B & B off Edgware Road was entirely furnished with it. Having to stare at the sheer repetitive drabness for any length of time was mind-numbing.,

I must admit I would prefer it in a more cheerful color scheme -- on television, it often looks almost two-tone gray. Do you happen to know what it's called?

He's used to me... He just rolled his eyes and waited patiently until the music was over. (You know your Sherlock obsession is bad when your spouse just takes it for granted).

Alex knows by now that he's not allowed to talk during the Waltz for John and Mary. :whip:

Watched TGG again tonight & the dandelion wallpaper is part of Westie's place he has with his fiancée. It's behind the sofa.

Sorry, couldn't muster up enough energy to ask what the ugly thing was called! It is an eyesore, but to each one their taste, after all! If I had to live in a place with that wallpaper, though, not just stay for a limited time, disfiguring it would have been a favourite pastime! And it is not fleur de lys, it is good old Liberty 1890s acanthus leaf design. (Shudder!)

After Googling both, I see what you mean -- but it's not exactly either fleur de lis or acanthus leaf -- maybe fleur de acanthus?  (Though technically that would be bear's breeches, nothing at all like the wallpaper!)

After buying Mulder and Scully funko pop toys, you're now obsessed with the idea of the cast of Sherlock being turned into little funko pop toys...

Well, they apparently have Bilbo and Smaug already, so they're getting kinda close.  Sorta.  They also have Doctor Who.
