I can't believe I'm buying this stuff for my favorite shows... I'm not sure what has happened to me.

When you are unable to read the world Microsoft anymore. Your brain automatically exchange it with a certain someone's first name.

When you keep saying "Minecraft" instead of that certain someone's name.

Oh, that's really bad...  ;)

This is a prop I truly despise. Corpses of dead animals as a decoration. Bleh. A mockup would be okay (remember the rubber bat I was mentioning?) But not a real thing. Even if it is Sherlock-y.

At least I didn't show the one with the tarantula in it... that could NEVER hang on my walls even dead.

Taxidermy is a hobby, like any other. I detest, loathe, abhor boxing, but it has its fans. De gustibus e de coloris non diputandum est! Besides, the Jagdmuseum in Munich has some lovely mounted trophies.

De gustibus e de coloris non diputandum est!

Gosh, now I'm wondering what that means in English... I don't know any Latin at all. Okay, think, as Sherlock would say. I like a puzzle.

Hmmmm. "gustibus". That sounds funny, but it also sounds like something to do with taste. "Coloris" must be color, "non" is a negative, of course, "dipuntandum"? Does that refer to a dispute? "Est" must be some version of "is".

Okay, so... Does it mean something like "there is no arguing over tastes and colors?"

Hee hee, this is fun. Do let me know how close I came to the real translation.

From the brief research I just did, you're pretty close Toby.

Thanks for the link! Ah, "de" means "of", of course. Should have guessed that...

Oh dear, we've hijacked this poor thread for our little latin lesson, haven't we. Somebody will have to teach me how to move posts with my new mod powers and I can take it to the language thread.

You know your obsessed when you have language discussions based off actual language barriers & differences of opinion about Sherlock.

There now it's being brought back on topic ;)

Now that we are back on topic, I think my obsession is bad because my friends (who haven't seen Sherlock) know most of the lines because I mix them up in the conversation so often.

But how would they know if they don't know Sherlock?

because I always look like this  :bouncy:   when I talk about it. It is so obvious xD They pretty much can't deny it.

Dictionary.com's word of the day is Defenestrate...look it up and you'll know why I put it here.

(and if you are not having a Sherlock moment, just think ASIB)

...when you go ahead and order that coupon wallet with a design vaguely like the 221B Navarre wallpaper... (a design I never would have picked before).

... when you are haunted by names, locations or cast members. Just watching Lara Pulver in DaVincis Demons. And I don't even really watch the show, was just zapping through the channels.

Suddenly the whole TV world seems to revolve around London and british actors...

I don't know if that's such a good idea... I've got a sound file of him reading some poem that was given to me by an exceptionally kind person, and while the words are perfectly decent, it somehow sounds like something that's meant to be listened to within the privacy of my own room... It'd go really well with Irene's text alert, come to think of it.

I would still like to know if it's even possible to personalize a ring tone the way that Irene did to Sherlock's phone.

Well, a lot of phones let you record sounds, don't they? I'm assuming Irene just moaned into Sherlock's phone, then saved that sound file and assigned it as her personalized text alert.
