I don't mean NOW, you twits! I mean thirty years from now when he's senile and drooling and Molly is still young enough to want some excitement in her life! Yeeeesh. (It's soooooo hard being the only practical one in the bunch.... )

I am assuming Loo is playing Molly to be the same age as she is, which puts her only a couple years younger than Sherlock.  And age-wise, being with an older man can be quite sexy, especially one so down-to-earth.  Not saying that at my age I'd want to date someone 15 years older because... well, statistically men live shorter lives, and I've got a lot of living to do.  Now I'd want someone within a few years either way...and I don't even want to talk about Molly and Lestrade, as you know.

Still want Molly and Sherlock to end up together, even if it takes them a very long time.

Life is short, why not elect to spend it with someone who can give you happiness instead of someone who need you as a caretaker? :P Besides, eventually all lives end, it is more about how you lead that life than how long you have left on this ball of dust. What is your legacy, a love story between two people or intangible gifts that you gave to people whose life you touched along the way? Live for yourself or live for many, Sherlock or Mycroft? ;)

That would make a great deal of sense if we ordered our mates out of a catalog.  But in our current society, one typically falls in love based on unquantifiable characteristics like compatibility.

Besides, maybe you intend to be senile and drooling in your 80's, but I have no such plans, and I doubt that Greg does either.

I'm already senile, can the drooling be far behind? :D

Coming from a line of long-living and healthy to almost until the end family, I will pretend to not read the 'drooling at 80' bit :p

That would be interesting...maybe. Would he consider her a goldfish or would he actually appreciate her?

Appreciation. Mycroft Holmes would only deal with goldfishes (read; worthless people who did not deserve his genuine regard) to manipulate but Dr. Molly Hooper is an accomplished person in her own right. She also fiercely loyal and already prove to be willing to endanger her own life in order to execute the Holmes brother's scheme (TRF). For someone who live behind the secrecy veil, that qualities will make her registered in his radar.

He won't have any time to consider that, because Lestrade'll come busting into his house and snapping his big pointy nose in half!

Are we sure it'd be Lestrade? I'm thinking maybe Sherlock will realize how much he cares for Molly and shoo Mycroft off. (Now Rory's initial problem with girls & his older brother in FortySomething is popping into my head).

I thought Rory was the oldest brother? The other one was ...... well, I didn't understand why the girls fell over him, actually, he didn't do a thing for me.

Nope Rory was the middle brother.

Errmmm ... according to hughlaurie.net, Rory was the oldest, Daniel was the middle child. Although I'm not sure how official that website is. But the same info pops up in a couple different places.

Ok...from what I saw of the show on YouTube it seemed that Rory was the middle one, not the oldest. Maybe I'm remembering wrong as that was back in August when I was still researching what all Benedict had done besides Sherlock & Amazing Grace.

Rory was definitely the oldest one... and how is this on the Molly thread?  LOL

Ah, yes, a three-way wrestling match between a Consulting Detective, a Detective Inspector, and the British government.

That would be interesting and I'd expect Mycroft to lose. Sherlock & Lestrade could be a little closer matched in terms if battle skills.

Battle skills with help from personal contacts against the kind of resources Mycroft could summon?  :D

I'm thinking more like a straight on fight of the 3 guys no outside help at the time of the wrestling match as that would be no fun. :)

No fun indeed. That's practically one sided, purely physical match unlike the essence of Sherlock series which is battle of wits between minds great and small. If Molly is not offended of being treated like a prize then I am going to lose all kind of respect for her forever. :p

While the boys are doing their aggressive preliminary dominance gestures like circling each other and glaring, she just walks off, nicking a few souvenirs like Lestrade's NSY badge. :D
