Now that is an interesting theory.  The other one that Mycroft mentioned in HLV now depicted by a teddy bear.  That does add to the ever growing speculations for series 4 and this special in particular.

Maybe it falls under the daddy Holmes had a little indiscretion and had 2 boys about the same time speculation.

Well, if a woman has two babies on the same day, they're called twins even if they have different fathers (which has been documented occasionally).  So, if a man has two babies on the same day, wouldn't they also be twins, even if they have different mothers?

(Yeah, I know, but I'm still trying to find the logical flaw.)

I read this before seeing what went on before it, and I'm going .... wha???????????????

I know of a lady that had half-brother twins who by twins association standards weren't being considered twins because they had different dad's do to the fertility clinic mixing up the sperm.

Not sure about that one.  Anyhow, the "other one" may not even refer to a male child but could be female (although I lean towards another brother if they do develop that story line).  And they needn't have been born the same day for "the other one"  to have been a secret kept from Sherlock.

I like the sort of. I also like how he politely answers about fatherhood before entering the party.

Saw on Tumblr that signs are up in a section of Bath noting no parking at the beginning of Feb. due to filming.

It appears that actually does refer to Sherlock filming, according to an article in their local newspaper.  Wonder if Sherlock's mind-palace time machine will take them all the way back to the heyday of the ancient Roman baths there?

Mark Gatiss tweeted a quote from a Sherlock Holmes story accompanied by a picture today. The picture shows a monitor on which you can see a (new) scene from Sherlock. Unfortunately I'm a hopeless case when it comes to twitter and linking to tweets there, maybe someone else could help out and provide a link?

As to the quote:

It's from The Blue Carbuncle which suggests the special will indeed be based on it.

And as to the picture:

I think it shows a Sherlock silouhette seen through some church window (guessing by the shape) with heavy rain in the background. And I think there are 3 people in the background??

Or does anybody see something different in the picture? It's a bit like a Rohrschach test ;)

Twelve hours earlier, he had posted this (showing a shadow on pavement).  And about twelve hours before that, he had posted this photo of a church window.

As for the quote ...

... as the Twitter comments very aptly put it, the source could be a clue -- or a wild goose chase!

I've kinda started ignoring Gatiss, they may be legit clues, but I kind of feel like he's messing with our heads.  lol

His clues (if such they be) are typically pretty thin, as well.  But on the bright side, they at least let us know that something is happening.  Better than no news at all, I suppose.

"The stars were shining coldly in a cloudless sky..." - supposedly from the Blue Carbuncle

And here's the setlock pic today that went with that quote, courtesy of the director.

That's Sherlock's silhouette, right? Wearing the hat? He seems to be standing before a window or a door with a window. Nice to use a blue sparkly background for him when making a quote from "The Blue Carbuncle".

What is the sparkly stuff on the glass? Snow? Rain drops?

Why oh why is Sherlock wearing that hat? I thought he hated it. Or have we indeed stumbled into an alternative universe where everything takes place a hundred and twenty years earlier and the hat is his usual wear?

Yep, and

as we see Mary in the same costume as the very end of the HLV, I think it's fair to assume that as soon as Sherlock landed, they all went to the graveyard to check things out.  So they have been filming the first scenes in the new episode today.

Not sure how any of that relates to the Victorian garb, but obviously the episode is set in modern day with some sort of Victorian-themed event.  And just because they wrapped up the other two cliffhangers almost as soon as the new season started, I see no reason for them not to do the same here.
