Nope, he's mine and I'm not sharing. John's still running about out there though, so you can keep him occupied if you like.

Stingy!!

Grumbll...grdundll..

No John is not my type.

Let me get back to my handcuffed Khan then.

Oh, they're coming to take me away, oh ho, oh he, hoo hoo, ha ha, ha he!

Do you know how hard it is to type in a straight jacket?!

Why, yes I do. Why do you ask?

What happened to the moody adult Harry Potter?

And I thought you would at least consider your precious crush as replacement avatar :Gollum: before Sherly :P.

Outside your house: any chance someone just chin an authority or could it be flatmate hostage situation?

Does that mean you're not 100? :o

I detect disappointment. I know right? High five.

Ahem.

Don't tell me you're old enough to remember that recording?!

(If you are, prove it by telling me what was on the flip side.)

When I was a kid I used to skip around the house saying that. Probably almost sent my mother to the funny farm, lol.

Probably not, no idea where I know it from.

Isn't that the laugh of the Joker from The dark knight?

Posted

Nah, was definitely the song that I was referring to. It's not as sinister as the Joker. Lulls people into a false sense of security that way see. ;)

What song is it? Weren't you in a straitjacket? Also,

Handcuffed Sherlock..

Ehm.. address plz.

Well now she's admitted she has Khan I'm debating offering a swap from time to time. ;)

Cute new avatar! :D And no chance of confusion with anyone else here. Is that one of your drawings?

As for "They're Coming to Take me Away," that was the title, near as I recall. It wasn't a song exactly, more of a bouncy chant, like rap only not rap. With sirens in the background.

And the flip side of the 45 was the same thing played backward.

Later when I'm on my laptop I'll see what I can find online.

Thanks. Yep it is my drawing, a really old one. I was trying to re-read something I'd written in one of the other threads and couldn't find myself with a Sherlock icon!

When I was a teenager my favourite band was Space, I thought they were the best thing ever (though not anymore), and for some reason the lyric 'I promise not to bark at the moon in your neighbourhood' still pops into my head from time to time.

I'm not familiar with either that group or that song, but I can see why that particular line would stick in your head.  I kinda like it.

You might like a sort of cult-favorite book called We Bark at Midnight -- it's basically a collection of random offbeat sentences with a few recurring themes.  (I like the old cover best, but it's no longer available.)

Ha, it does look like something I'd like, I do sometimes get hung up on certain sentences and phrases.

I remember the "song" but I can't remember the name of the band. Not sure I ever knew, actually.

The recording is on YouTube several times, with video accompaniments by different people.  Here's one that displays the lyrics.  But my favorite is this one, with a man mouthing the words, beautifully synced to the recording, plus a link to the aforementioned flip side.

Omg, lol. I don't think I've ever listened to the whole thing, it is actually a bit sinister after all.

Seriously lacking motivation today, no energy, no oomph. So much to do, no energy to do it.

Can I live here? Though I'd add barbwire and mines outside the trees.

Good god, I realize now that I've heard the flip side before too.

If I had trick or treaters, I'd play that every time one came to the door. Then I wouldn't have any trick or treaters.

And if that didn't work open the door with a wide, wide smile, and dead eyes.

You're showing your age.  :D  (Either that, or you're a Dr. Demento fan.)

Alas, I'm afraid it's my age. We lived in Korea when that song was ... well, I won't say popular  ... released, and one of the DJs on Armed Forces Radio must've been channeling the guy from Good Morning Vietnam, because he gradually began pushing the envelope. When we first got there, there was a single program, from 4 to 5 p.m., when you could hear pop songs by the likes of the Beach Boys and Herman's Hermits scattered amongst the Sinatra and Herb Alpert. Then this guy showed up. By the time we left Korea a year later, you could rave all night with the Airplane and the Stones. And more than once he must've played the B side of "haha", because I remember hearing it on the radio in my bedroom.

Aw geez, I just remembered the guy's name, because he used to sign off with it ... "Tell them Walker sent you." Wonder what happened to that guy. He opened me up to a whole new world of music. Thank you, Walker!!!!!! :rose:

Lol, "Tell them Walker sent you." That's brilliant.

Oh God, a Sherlock AU just popped into my head with Sherlock as the wacky new Army DJ - "Tell them Holmes sent you." He's been sent there by Mycroft to keep him out of trouble whilst he detoxes, so is even more wacky than usual, and John of course is the Army doctor who likes to put on the radio whilst he's doing paperwork. :D
