Well, the fever pitch it pretty high for all things SHERLOCK.    Love it.

More thoughts on this possible Christmas episode - if it's a one-off, will it even connect to the end of HLV.  Would seem hard to connect if too much time has passed.  Time, of course, does not need to pass in Sherlock's world the way it does in ours.  After all, despite a 2-year gap between series 1 and 2, there was no time gape between TGG and ASIB.

True -- but they did make it 18 months between John's visits to his therapist, so there was an in-universe gap somewhere between "Study in Pink" and "Reichenbach Fall."  And they went with the actual two-year gap between Series 2 and 3.  Then again, a Christmas special may operate under different rules from an entire series -- so who knows?

I think it'd be kind of difficult to follow up His Last Vow with a story set two years (or more) later.

 

If there is a Christmas Special, I do hope it will be in some way connected, story-wise, to the other episodes. Like "Many happy returns" was, only I hope this will be much longer! (90 min, to be exact... or how about the whole 2 hours this time? Or more... I can always deal with more!)

"Last Vow" ended at some point shortly after Christmas, so the special will presumably take place on a different Christmas, say a year or two later.  Of course, it wouldn't have to be a subsequent Christmas, would it?  Could be a past Christmas, maybe visiting John in Afghanistan and Sherlock wherever he was then.  (Just not too far in the past -- Moftiss have already nixed anything without Cumberbatch and Freeman.)

Oh, wait a minute -- are you talking about that apparently-fake Twitter page (discussed on this thread) that claims to be Molly's?  Anyone who's married to Dirk Gently could easily have Julie Andrews for a mother, I suppose -- but I doubt we'll see any of that on Sherlock.

Well see, I'm not sure where some of the fakery begins and ends.  We know there are BBC sites for John's blog, Molly's blog, and Sherlock's website.  Are there other things????

You're not the only one who's confused, I assure you!  As far as I'm aware, the only "real" social media accounts are John's blog, Sherlock's blog, Molly's blog, and Irene's twitter.  If anyone can add confirmed sites to that list, please do.

Martin Freeman was quoted as saying that if they follow the canon... Mary inevitably will die.

That's a pretty big "if" though (and Mr. Freeman seems to have phrased his statement very carefully).  Moftiss clearly take great delight in "adapting" canon (e.g., turning sweet little Mary Morstan into -- well, whatever she is), sometimes even doing the exact opposite of canon (e.g., with "Rache").

 

I'm not saying they won't kill Mary, just that I sure wouldn't bet on it -- for or against.

I still miss just John & Sherlock. Well hopefully she doesn't threaten any of the main Characters again. Except the bad guys..

 

She could go after Sally Donovan. Calling people freaks. Meanwhile she's cheating with a married man. I really don't like her. I just can't put my finger on it. Maybe cause her character tried to come between Sherlock's friendship w/ John. "Fishing! Try fishing" That little stank pot.
