You have no idea, I had an internal fight when I saw this post. What is she smoking? Oh. But then we are liking characters, not real people. Oh. Characters, but with certain characteristics.. Oh? That means.. Oh my god.

"BBC Sherlock" articles & other miscellany
Van Buren Supernova replied to sfmpco's topic in The News Stand
There are a whole lotta things I've seen-but-not-observed on that show (e.g., what color shirt was John wearing at the Shad Sanderson Bank?). I did get all of those 12 right, but there were some that I probably wouldn't have gotten (or wouldn't have gotten entirely correct) if I'd had to supply the answer from scratch. The multiple-guess format was a definite help at times! And the creator doesn't put a lot of effort to make the wrong answers not obvious. XD The internet scold me and ask me to think positive and not browsing this link. I'm not joking...what is in the article?!?- 958 replies

My meal was gloomy but doesn't mean I'm not happy. Definitely party time! And we can have another party on, umm, October 24th (for the PBS premiere) -- and another when Sherlock premiered in Germany, and so on. Never pass up a good opportunity for a party! As usual, I can only offer tea. Bring your own eyeballs. Only found Sherlock for half a year. (lucky me) It's worth waiting for good stuff, but doesn't mean I have to be sane.

The Cute Animal Pics/Videos Thread
Van Buren Supernova replied to Caya's topic in Miscellaneous Musings
Yep.. I shamelessly flipped back to see older posts and found the cat XD Let Frank go! His planet really needs him. I had to google wolf spider and yes, it's not fun to be ambushed by that. Anyway, I'm curious about phobia because I know a friend's friend, who is extremely afraid of snakes. However, while I'm not making light of phobia because it's real, I have my doubt that she is..well... exaggerating it. She is afraid of snake..okay.. then she is afraid about anything that resembles snake..okay.. then she is afraid to hear or read the word 'snake'...euh... then she is afraid to hear or read any word that resemble/associated with snakes..such as anaconda, cobra, etc.. huh? I find it hard to believe that phobia extends to phonology(?), and since I am a very curious person, I did some half-a** google search and found no phobia to that level of extremity. She would run and scream, but when snakes are present without her knowing it, it's fine. I see you guys don't mind reading the word spider or talking about it or even clicking the link. Any take? I can't help to think that it's attention seeking method (from my unreliable observation). On topic: In this place that I patron, I could never have any bacon for breakfast. Because there is a bacon mafia who would give you this kind of look until you surrender your bacon. No. No bread. No pancake. Nothing else. Bacon! -

I literally burst out laughing seeing these two above. That might be the mantis from Kung Fu Panda! Oh my! I so want to mess that face. This one really resembles Moriarty's shock face. -

What *really* happened in Karachi?
Van Buren Supernova replied to Carol the Dabbler's topic in Series 2
Who does? XD The bright side, if we understand him, we don't have anything to talk about. -
Ditto, and Boton, you remind me of how this was my favourite show back then. I should get my ass up and find what I left behind, I think I only watched up to Season 3 because lack of resources but never get my interest back until maybe now. Another parallel that might be connected, there is one particular thing that really stuck in my mind about House. I can't recall the name of his team (the only team that I know is his original three), the lady in the team had massive crush with House and finally, he agreed to go on date with her, worst date ever, because he accurately point out that she doesn't really like him, but she likes damaged people because she wants to try to fix it, something connected with the guilt from her past. Which makes me think about Molly.. and her 'type'..

Definitely not closeted Johnlock shipper.., I don't think for one second that Mary comes in between Sherlock and John. In fact, in this area, she is the best spouse one can ever have, who encourages John to hang out with Sherlock and treats him as an individual with their own space and friends (one thing that I oppose the most is people losing their individuality after they get married, they have to do everything together, go everywhere together, all friends are mutual.. that is when I compare marriage with murder..). What makes Mary hated is of course, she shoots Sherlock. But for me, the reason is not the moment itself, but everything behind that, imho, her love for John is incredibly selfish. Again, all love are selfish. Even when you worry or mourn about your loved ones, there is a big chunk of selfishness there. Yes, I believe she really loves John, but what Mary does, everything, is for herself. Everything, from shooting Sherlock, to threatening and hunt him down. What is most unforgivable to me, she is probably the only person who witnesses how devastated John was when Sherlock was 'dead', yet she tries to kill Sherlock again. Well, I don't buy surgery explanation, even when Sherlock says so (I think it's because he wants to believe it. Maybe I read too much into it, but in good writing, nobody is always reliable narrator all the time), he came back from dead not because it's 'surgery' shot, but because he is worried about John being with Mary. Why? She tries to kill him, and certainly will do everything else to ensure everything goes her way and that alarms him. Yes, some actually make sense. But I have to roll my eyes to the back of my head and roll them back again for the so called subtexts some point out regarding the stag night drunk and vomit scene. That is is so bloody arghhhh.. (I don't have the slow head banging emoticon)..

Episode 2.2 ,"The Hounds Of Baskerville"
Van Buren Supernova replied to Undead Medic's topic in Series 2
I believe plagiarism is frowned upon almost every profession and I also believe this definition is still applicable to all. Imho, now, almost nothing is original; designs, artworks, creations are inspired from somewhere and 'copied' from something, but it could be adaptation, deconstruction, reinterpretation etc which is not necessary plagiarism. -
I too love listening to Mark Gatiss as Mycroft (complaining or otherwise), and could happily listen to him for minutes on end. There comes a point, though, where that sort of thing (especially in real life) becomes tiresome. I know a person who seems to think of himself in much the same way that Mycroft does, and the constant complaints about all his problems (as though nobody else has any problems) -- well, let's just say that we very nearly came to blows once. And I'm not that sort of person. At all! I'm with you. I'd rather listen to Sherlock rapid fire blabbering about anything under the sun than hearing Mycroft complains in the long run. In certain traffic junction on the place I used to live, sometimes there would be two farmers herding close to one thousand of ducks, across the junction, diagonally! The traffic would hold still but no one was mad because it's such a sight. It's so quaky but I don't categorize it as noisy because I enjoy it XD. However, if one truck full of ducks collides with a truck full of tin pots.... Good heavens! John would definitely have a heart attack. I might.

You are enjoying this.

It kind of works in reverse for me, because he is a different Sherlock, the one who now can't divorce himself from human feeling and human connection: he shoots Magnussen. He did it all for John, seeing how Magnussen's blackmail affecting John, his life, his future, his relationship. The look when he witness Magnussen flicking John's face and the look he gives John a moment before the shooting. Imho, he shoots M not because he is a cold-blooded Sherlock, because he feels obligated to do so, to protect John, something that he would not do in SIP. I do get your point that shooting M is a side of original Sherlock I'm on the side of the angel but I'm capable of doing nasty things because I'm not one of them, however, I think the reasoning behind the shooting is not original Sherlock, if that makes any sense. If you put axe on my head, I have a few theories, but I don't fully buy any of that yet: 1. Sherlock being nervous and uncomfortable, he sits right at the edge and his body language is alert, something that represents that he is nervous to be in the situation in this episode, foreign territory to him, that he cares about someone so much and he is aware that it's an disadvantage that is going to bite him. He is asking about Sholto, who used to be close to John and means so much to him, yet not in the picture of John's life this few years. Maybe he represents dispensable relationship to John, that John used to be a good friend to him in the past, then he replaced Sholto with Sherlock.., now he has Mary. 2. Foreshadowing of Sherlock being a bigger person for forgiving Mary and push John to do so despite him being the victim, while John is ready to disown Mary. 3. Something similar to what you mentioned, the growing distance between two of them.

Oh,... I am curious about phobia, whether you have back story about why you are afraid of certain things. But that should be in another thread yes? Anyway, although spider is not what I wanted to post here, I do have picture of 'cute' spider. There are really cute spiders, but I don't want to post other's pictures without permission. So, warning, quite cute (for me), face to face spider Well, I only happy to see them outside my house. In the house, it's either me or them. This is a bearcat pup, with her pouty look because I didn't let her climb onto my head for the tenth times. (No worries, it's not a pet) P.S. Sorry my pictures somehow almost always gigantic. -
I won't be surprised if they did it deliberately, after all, it seems that they pay a lot of attentions to lighting. Sherlock Holmes as best man in a wedding, not many other things that can be more alien than that. Arguable, maybe Mycroft as best man, or NASA finally find McDonald on Pluto among the haze. Good catch. Why is that? Does he feel sad for Sherlock? I think so, I always believe that he really cares for him. :( :( :( On once in a blue moon good days, I am able to convince myself that he looks sad only because he doesn't get the chance to dance. Well, he practiced. Anyway, he is unpredictable, who knows what is inside that curly funny head? He is Sherlock Holmes.

My favorite Sherlock-ness! Good,.. I was wondering if I was alone, because it catches my attention since the very first watch. That...grr... that two guys...! Same here. The noise, the people and it bores me to tears sometimes, or I prefer to hang out with friends in more private setting so we leave early together. But in TSoT, imho, what makes it sad is Sherlock's expressions when he looks around and sees that he doesn't belong there, while I think, he was ready to try and mingle (that says a lot for him). He didn't even get his dance. At least I heard he will be there for the special. Like Maris (Nile's wife) in Frasier? I don't blame you. In fact, I think it's still a bit too nice just for thinking to stop it. Ouw..maybe in the past John had accidentally drink something similar..because you know how Sherlock put things around, so it's actually a revenge as well? XD I kind of like that. Curious.. will get to the link later.
