It says there was a third incident but it wasn't related - just a 'normal' stabbing. God, we're really getting a hammering here at the moment. Tbh I thought something was going to happen in Cardiff where there was a huge football match on.

At this point people are becoming afraid, a concert nearly got cancelled because of a possible terrorism attack. I don't blame them, it seems you're not safe anymore there days :(

Thank you for your kindess.

I know right? The third attack in three months, poor Britain :(.

Wow, one cop, who is currently in hospital being treated for stab wounds, was one of the first responders and took on all three terrorists armed only with a baton.

They don't seem to have much information yet about it over here.

Goes on a bit, but feels very much like watching any 24 hour news station where they are desperately trying to fill the time by sounding like they have something important to say. Plus he's young and cute.

God, how annoying, get to the point already! I hate it when they do that.

Reminds me of when I was watching BBC News 24 after Manchester, and they were just saying basically 'we don't know anything new' over and over again in different ways for hours.

Ben plays earnest but stupid so well.

Yes, I made the mistake of turning to CNN looking for news about it. I think what I heard was taken almost verbatim from that Broken News sketch. And here I thought inane news babble was just an American atrocity phenomenon. :P

A blight of news channels everywhere I suspect! :D But then when you're told to make nothing last hours I guess you have no choice.

There's a lot of other stories they could cover, though. PBS does a fairly good job of that; they have an hour long show, but there's always at least one in-depth story about something that's not "breaking" news.

It's mainly just the 24hr news channels here, though they do have specials that come on late at night. It annoys me when they cancel the film show I like to watch just to say the same thing for another 15 min.

When I was in Spain 17 years ago, I watched CNN World and BBC World for several minutes. Both stations were sharing the same 4 news stories: 1 from Sierra Leone, 1 about the border conflict between Ethiopia and Eritrea, and I forget what the other 2 were. It was rather annoying.

Y'all should have lived in the LA area during the infamous "Rodney King riots."  In the first place, there wasn't even a riot, it was just one big looting festival.  The local stations were all showing live camera feeds of people leaving stores with overflowing shopping carts.  Those folks were very happy, but I was b-o-r-e-d.

There's something going on in Paris - gunshots around Notre Dame.

I just saw it, this is going to be an awful week :(.

Off topic again, as I was driving through the city this evening it occurred to me that it's very hard for a normal guy to carry off a coat like Sherlock's without looking like a gigantic c*ck. Perhaps in the City in London, or certain posh parts of other big cities, but most places... no.

Two of my husband's nephews wore coats like that back maybe fifteen years ago (pre-Sherlock, anyhow). They're both tall and thin and looked fine in the coats.

They used to wear them even indoors and would perch on top of chairs and sofas while doing so. Looking back at family photos from that era is like getting a Sherlock preview!

Were they adult men or teenagers?

I am confronted with a smarter mosquito than me.

I have to sleep but it doesn't allow.

The end of this fight will be bloody.

Just be grateful that only the females bite, and each of them bites only once. At least that's apparently the case with the ones we have in the US.

^ Biting only once is a myth, I read:

Myth
The mosquito dies after she takes a blood meal.

Fact
Mosquitoes are capable of biting more than once. After the female mosquito takes a blood meal she completes the development of her eggs and may deposit up to 200 eggs. She may then seek another blood meal.
