Thanks, Arcadia.  Right, Fox, apparently some people only count things that they've seen personally -- so to them, the creative arts Emmys "don't count."  I'd hate to imagine what Sherlock would look and sound like without those people's inputs, though!  Those awards were not mentioned during the part of the show that we watched, but it was getting pretty late by the time Sherlock's last category was awarded, so we turned off the TV then.  The creative arts awards could well have been read off toward the end of the show.

The Insider kept saying Breaking Bad won the most Emmy's. I tweeted them, lies, lies,lies... You know Sherlock got the most Emmy's, Hollywood politics.

They never responded.

Did Breaking Bad win the most "Emmy Night" Emmys? Some people count only the ones awarded on live television.

Sherlock won seven in all Breaking Bad garnered six in all.

Right -- but of those seven, Sherlock won three awards on "Emmy Night." How many of Breaking Bad's six were awarded that night?

The Insider reported that Breaking Bad was the biggest Emmy winner, with a total of 6 Emmy's. Breaking Bad won 5 that night & 1 for the creative portion. So they did count both nights. Hollywood politics.

While checking the current price of a first-class postage stamp, I discovered that there are now Harry Potter stamps:

Wonder what it would take to get some Sherlock stamps?

Don't worry, somebody is probably working on them as we speak. I mean, I wanted a 'Benedict Cumberbatch' wax figure in Madame Tussaud's, and voila!

Seriously, I'd not be a bit surprised if and when Sherlock stamps were released.

Actually, I wanted a 'Sherlock' figure in the wax museum, but I suppose I could bring a wig with short black curls... Oh, and The Coat.

Okay, changing the subject.  I'm doing the Prince's Trust Palace to Palace ride in 4 weeks - the same 45-mile ride that Ben did in 2012.

Now, there has been a lot of the ALS ice bucket challenge, and there has recently been a world record for the most Sherlocks in one place... but here's something I would like to challenge ALL U.K. Sherlockians to:

Get on your bikes and do the Prince's Trust ride.  Make it an annual event.  Make Sherlockians the biggest presence at the ride, especially since Ben is an ambassador for the Prince's Trust.

Fox, you better start training now. You know that old

Adage, "Once you learn to ride a bike, you'll never forget". LIES!!!! I tell ya! LIES!!

Bike riding ain't no joke! And now I'm older... It just takes serious discipline, gotta build endurance.

I hope you can join sfmpco in that ride. Y'all go ahead with your bad selves! :o

I'm thinking about starting some kind of training actually. I can't do it in proxy I'd be bored out of my skull doing it stationary or even riding around the same terrain how ever long it took to ride the 45 miles. The real deal or nothing. I suppose I could pop in a Sherlock dvd and set it for "all episodes" or find a Youtube video that someone took of the full ride from a camera on the front of the bike at least I could somewhat feel like I was actually doing it. But if I'm going to ride between palaces I would much rather enjoy the real experience of seeing the sites for myself.

Well, with so many Sherlock Facebook fan pages and so many Twitter accounts dedicated to Ben/Sherlock, it seems like somehow we ought to be able to get the minds of the admins of these places all on the same idea and get it fired of for next year.  Maybe Sherlockology and Baker St. Babes can help push an effort.  Also maybe can get Hartswood Films behind it.  I don't think people will be wanting to dress as Sherlock, however, as they would overheat within a couple of miles.   :)  I can just see cosplay Belstaff coats abandoned all over the road...

However, if there was enough interest, I could see getting some sort of identifying article of clothing made for the Sherlockians, maybe arm warmers or wrist bands, t-shirts.  Something.

If it's a lighter version with no slinky acetate or polyester lining it can work. Our captain finds that a light summer weight wool captain's coat works fine even in full July heat. Will have to look into it. But no, I wouldn't be wearing spandex biker shorts or anything under that either.

Hey, fan art is always personal.  Looks like your take on Sherlock might be really interesting!

I never wear spandex... yet.  Don't really plan to, but maybe eventually I'll get some.  Some fabrics can chafe the inside of the thighs, though, but after a while you build up a resistance to it.

Agreed. There's a dynamic energy in your pictures that should suit Sherlock well.

I'm going to be checking out the local bike shop to see if they have anything in the used category. Our last gig of the season is this weekend so after this I should have some time to start working on getting in shape. I will need something to keep the weight down until next season and biking would be a good hobby.

Trust me, I have tons of weight to lose.  Doesn't stop me from riding, and I pass up a lot of people... even had some touring cyclists stay with me over the summer, and two of them remarked that I was fast on my bike.  One of those was from the China youth Olympics.  Say what?  No, I'm a slow poke.  I am sure that when Ben did his ride in 2012, he was peeling down the roads on his speedy Specialized at 15-20 mph.

I am mostly comfortable in the 12-15 mph range, but I travel on a heavy touring bike that us usually loaded with gear of some sort.  The fastest I've ever been is 24 mph, and I might have been able to go faster except for that darn stop sign.  That was a downhill, btw.  The fastest I've ever done on the flats is 21 mph, but that was just to hustle across an intersection.  Really, I hover around 12-15, and when I hit the road full time as a touring cyclist in January, I will probably average 10-12 mph because the bike will be carrying an extra 50 lbs or so of gear.

If anyone here wants to follow my cycling adventures, please feel free to do so at:
