Wow! Nature truly is a beast. And maybe global warming isn't just rubbish or paranoia. This is serious!

The climate clearly does change from time to time -- otherwise I'd be sitting under half a mile of ice right now. Rather than trying to fight the changes, I suspect we'd be far better off figuring out how to cope with them.

I'm all in favor of feeding the bears on isolated areas of the coast. They're smart, they'll figure out that there's easy food, and then they won't bother with trying to eat things that fight back.

Climate change is largely due to natural cycles that the earth has been going through for the last several million years. But scientists have been talking about this since the late 50's and early 60's and they said even back then that the influence that humans have had on it has actually sped it up by something like 10,000 years. How true that is, I don't know.

Back then, though, they were worried that human activity was leading to another ice age.

Which coat are we talking about?  I'm pretty sure Sherlock's is sort of charcoal gray, and John's new knee-length coat is dark blue.

What knee-length coat?

I have to stop looking at The Coat (and the man who wears it) and pay attention to John more...

I love this, However I can't relate. I'm a black woman with locs. ( I have clean locs, I believe in washing my hair, & my locs are staying just fine.)

You are lucky :D Unfortunately, I can completely relate. Isn't it ridiculous, though, that we have those expectations? That's what media does to us.

I too can completely relate -- thought I was the only one with hair like that!

One hairdresser talked me into going for a Farrah Fawcett 'do, which I agreed to mostly out of curiosity, not really expecting it to work. She got me trimmed and shampooed, then reached for the blow dryer -- fwooofff! -- just like that gal in the picture!

Definitely! Just offhand, I know John was wearing that coat in the "Empty Hearse" scene when he first comes to Baker Street and the kids walk past with the "Guy". (We were there for that day of filming.) So he's wearing it in some of the official publicity stills for S3, like this one:

If that image isn't working any better for you than it is for me, here's a good ol' fashioned link.  Of course you can't see that it's knee-length in that close-up, but it does look dark blue.

Ah! Okay, I'm not completely unattentive, then, as I know which coat you're talking about now, even without checking your link. Just hadn't noticed him wearing it more often.

Now I checked your link. Carol, did you notice that below the photo it says "Official Sherlock convention Sherlocked postponed until 2015"? I hadn't heard.

Couldn't prove it by me, either way, though I do have the impression I've seen it in other scenes as well.  He still mostly wears the black jacket, I think.

Nope, didn't notice that caption!  But that news has been posted here.

Sherlock can't help that he's super fine!

I actually like the reality pick of the wind blown hair versus the expectation. Look @ that. Gorgeous!

I'm nearly in tears. Just caught the tail end of one of my favorite movies. So touching & inspirational. Have any of you ever seen 'Finding Forester". I'm not a Sean Connery fan, but his portrayal of a successful, bitter, anti-social writer, who befriended this kid, who gets an opportunity @ a school, where he's seen as just a basketball jock, but when its discovered that he's a smart talented writer, peers & staff become envious of his talents & try to bring him down. Forester has a decision to make. Can't help but to cry. Awesome, awesome movie!

I saw it a long time ago, I really liked it.

Oh my god. Hasn't Mark Gatiss said repeatedly that he'd like to do a modern version of "The Red-Headed League"? Well, it seems real life has been faster:

If fan fiction writers are not having an absolute blast with this, I might be driven to help them along! :P

(Side note: If this guy seriously thinks red-headed men have never been portrayed as sexy, confident and heroic before, then he's obviously never read Outlander.)

I don't get why red-heads are given such a hard time. Ginger is beautiful. Unless it's the Celtic connection being steriotyped as being hot tempered and lacking in constraint. Since BC is a ginger maybe that could held change peoples negative connotations a bit? Hopefully?

Oi! Now I have a rant! I droppeded Tapatalk and started using CM Browser because it's supposed to be more secure then anything else out there but now I no longer get that spell checker bar above my keyboard! Now that is a real bummer!

Posted

Maybe there is a spellchecker available, Fox, but  you just need to enable it somehow.  When we upgraded our software, I noticed the spellchecker was no longer working.  I checked, and yes, it was enabled.  Turned out that I just needed to select a dictionary.  Once I did that, it worked just fine.  So make sure your spellchecker is enabled and has a dictionary to use.

I had no idea anyone held anything against redheads. Good grief.

Silly, isn't it?  Not liking a group of people just because of the color of their hair. How asinine and weak minded can people be. I love red hair. Especially the bright copper penny color.
