One of these years, we'll all have to get together.  I was planning to be over there right now, and hoping to meet up with a bunch of the British and European forum members, but family obligations arose a few months ago, so my husband Alex is in the UK now with his brother.

Hey, I got some tomatoes planted today.  Wanted to do it last week -- the weather was just right -- but had to be somewhere else every evening.  When Alex gets back, he'll help me put up the tomato cages.  Then all we have to do is wait for ripe tomatoes!  :P

Why do you put your tomatoes in cages? Are you afraid they'll wander off? :d

Well, since you put it that way -- yes!  The cages encourage the plants to grow upward instead of wandering all over the garden.

Do egg shells as calcium supplier really work, like they will dissolve on time for when the tomatoes needs it?

Sounds delightful.

Do they work for children?

Shadow, don't use egg shells unless they are made into pulver. Your garden will look like a waste dump.

Have had this problem - the former owner of the garden I use, threw eggshels into compost pile and I had to get rid of a lot of good humus, just because it was full of white egg shell pieces.

:| I have been using egg shells to grow seedlings. So, they are slow to dissolve? What if we grind them into fine powder before application, would it change the soil in a not good way even for tomatoes?

But is it not in their nature to wander? I have half a mind to call the SPCP.... :p

Tomatoes are weird plants anyway. When I was a kid, my grandma tried to grow some in her garden for years, to little avail (and she had a veritable green thumb otherwise). So meanwhile, we were eating store-bought tomatoes, both us and occasionally my trio of Greek tortoises, who were quite fond of them. Gran used to bury the tortoises' droppings in between her roses, because she said it was excellent manure. Among those leavings were tomato seeds as well, which had apparently survived a turtle round trip unscathed - and those, ahem, well-travelled seeds sprouted unbidden, grew big and healthy enough to endanger her beloved roses and bore big, juicy tomatoes, the kind grandma had been trying to get for years .

Regarding eggshells as a calcium source for tomato plants: What I've heard is that one should crunch them up and put a good handful into the bottom of the planting hole. I've tried this and never noticed much difference, so I suspect that my soil is already high in calcium. Anyhow, it's supposed to prevent blossom-end rot.

Suddenly I appreciate the term "epic fail" in a way I never did before... :d

For your enjoyment or joint commiseration as the case maybe (in my case both as I was laughing so hard I was crying & could barely breath [thank you head cold] having been through most of these)

Yaks, hair caught everywhere, can't escape it even with ponytail.

Oh, and if you guys like dreadlock, I accidentally found toothpaste on hair is the quickest way, and smell good too.

 Rubber cement does the trick too. :d

Wait wait wait... toothpaste activity is located around hair area.

:lol5: how on earth you get rubber cement on your hair? (Said someone who walked around with paints on face before)

Okay, okay, I actualy get it.

After all, embarrassingly, I once glued my teeth for solid two minutes. It makes a lot of sense actually, nothing to be ashamed of.

So I was trying to superglue something broken on my shoes, but I couldn't open the superglue cap, the next thing is, as usual, of course, using teeth to try turning the cap. It worked, well..eh.. a tiny bit too well.

What I want to know is, how were you able to un-superglue yourself in only two minutes? A certain husband of mine (whose name I will not mention) once sat at our kitchen table to do some superglue repairs. The repairs turned out fine, but I'd love to know how to get the blob of superglue off the table.

Well, because it's only a small amount, so I kept trying to grind my teeth and used a bit of 'force' until I could open my mouth. It took another while to completely get rid of it.

For the stain, it's difficult one. Normally I use cutter to cut them off but sometimes you can't get a clean cut and it stay there forever. Not really sure how to clean it properly without damaging the table.

Glad it was only a tiny amount on your teeth! I can just imagine you trying to explain to your dentist -- "I uz yus krying a glue my chooz.". And heaven knows what they could have done about it.

As for the blob, I suspect you're right, I'll just have to live with it. It's just a little blob anyhow.

Yesterday I got the 3rd Season 'Orange is the new black' in my mailbox. :cowdance:

Already started bingewatching - only a short computer break now, then it's Disc 4 already, haha...season 4 starts on Netflix these days, but I don't have netflix, so problably wait another year for the DVD...not as long as waiting for Sherlock new stuff obviously, but well...there's possibly Sherlock sooner in 2017 than the next OITNB-Dvds, haha... :P

Nooooo.. :D :D I bet I would have to find new dentist soon after that. I wouldn't trust a guy who keeps laughing to hold a drill.

Ah? It's been a year already? I forget some of the plots but I remember the final scene. Will keep a lookout.

Pics of Sebastian Stan are filling up my Twitter feed, and I just keep thinking that he looks an awful lot like a young Andrew Scott... could play a young Moriarty no problem!
