Are they keeping Mary and Baby Watson? They make him more human and then deprive him of his only true friend and companion in favour of blissful domesticity and a practicing doctor returning home to wife and family! Perhaps he was being literal there in the airport scene: the game is never over , there will be some new players. If that is, indeed, the case, they will have turned the most famous crime-solving pair into loner/sitcom. Thanks, but no, thanks!

Odd rumor, though.  What could they be filming at this point, anyhow?  Some publicity stuff maybe.  "Word is" doesn't seem like much to go on.

Well, it could be that there are some 2nd unit scenes being filmed that they needed summer weather for.  2nd unit stuff does not usually involve the main actors.  Could just be exterior, establishing shots

Could be -- though they don't seem to have ever worried about that sort of thing before (their trees have leaves at Christmas).  And I'm fairly certain they were scoring the music a while back, meaning that they already had the final cut of the Special then.  If nobody has any supporting evidence for this supposed filming other than "word is," then I'm inclined to ignore it.

There's really no reason to be filming now anyhow.  I mean, series 4 isn't airing until 2017...  no rush, sadly.  lol

Well, prinicipal photography will start next spring.  I would say in 8-9 months.  Still not sure they've started writing it yet, although I know they have it outlined.  They also have S5 outlined.  In the meantime we all carry on.  

 

It could very well be, however, that they are location scouting already, as locations take time to find and then get permits for, etc.  Lots of logistics and scheduling of locations to work out long before the cameras ever start rolling.
