Oh dear. It's around here somewhere but I can't find it, sorry. We need Carol, she's the master of the search function!

Posted

Also the memory function, apparently!  :P

I believe it's in the whatever-we-called-the-Special-Setlock thread.  Hang on.....

OK, we apparently posted all that stuff in the Christmas Special News thread.  This post links to some shots of

John and Mary in a graveyard, wearing the same clothing we last saw them in at the airfield at the end of "Last Vow."

@Anythingbatch has posted 4 new Setlock pics on Twitter.  DEFINITE spoilers of.... something.   :sherlock:

You mean, like these ?

I know there were more (and better) photos from that same location, but I'm not finding them just now.  They'd presumably have been posted on Twitter on or about that same date.

Cemetary... Pregnant Mary. Could be another of our beloved red herrings. But would they make such an effort?

Okay, a theory: John and Mary go to a cemetary for some reason and discover a tombstone with the name of Sherlock Holmes. (Or Jim Moriarty - because they are after Jim or his organisation due to the Miss Me message.) They find it, start a research and discover that they are repeating a story that happened in 1895.

I've always assumed (dangerous, I know  ) they were in the cemetery looking for Jim's grave, but as for the rest of it ... that's a pretty good theory! But right now I'm favoring red herring.

Yeah, I don't really know how to rationalize those filming photos of John and Mary in the cemetery unless they filmed a scene they're going to use later in series 4.  Unless something with John and Mary leads into the telling of this Victorian Sherlock story.

Maybe they had to give that pregnancy body extension back because it was needed for some other production. :P

Maybe there's only one in the whole of the BBC.

Kind of like being on this forum, huh?  :P

Me neither!  I was referring to what you said about repeating something that happened long ago.  We do seem to repeat ourselves around here!

I do recall that sometime back Mark mentioned that the special would answer the Moriarty question.  He seemed to be genuine in that regard so it means that we would need a very pregnant Mary in her HLV airport clothing.  Now if he was not genuine, then the HLV clothing in setlock would be a complete waste.

It's not like they've never done that sort of thing before -- e.g., the Moriarty - Mycroft handshake.

Hey everyone!

There's a million things I want to see in season 4, but most of all I want to see the friendship between Sherlock and Molly develop into something more, not romance essentially. But something that will show the more human side to Sherlock, that he's not just a freak. He has a hard time with sentiments and women because it interferes with his work.

Would love to see Moriarty back. How that will affect Molly because the one person Moriarty thought was insignificant in Sherlock's life was the one woman that mattered the most. I don't want to see Molly get hurt, but I would definitely love to see Sherlock go berserk and mad with rage if any harm comes to her.

I definitely wanna know what's up with Mycroft. He's another character apart from Sherlock that intrigues me so much. They are so alike but Mycroft doesn't get "involved", like Sherlock does. So definitely more about him.

S4 can't come any sooner. 2 years are going to be hard to pass..

 I'd love it if Sherlock went berserk over something he thinks happened to Molly and then it turns out she's either fine or got herself out of trouble. I'd love to see her just standing there shaking her head and not knowing whether to laugh or cry over him.

Besides, I think Molly really can take care of herself. I think she's hugely underestimated by everyone around her and possibly even by herself, but she's really a pretty cool lady.

(I do NOT "ship" Sherlock and Molly. I might go so far as to say I actively oppose that idea. But I am in love with Molly and I must say, the scenes where they interact are always a special treat, because those actors are just so good and even better when they play off each other.)

That's sort of where I'm at with those two ... not a romance, but a friendship. And yeah, I'd get a kick out of Molly proving she can take care of herself. Actually, what would be really cool is if she had to rescue him! I'd like to see the look on Sherlock's face if that happened... :)

if Molly rescues Sherlock, that would be amazing and I think Sherlock will start respecting her even more on a personal level. Cuz really who rescues the Sherock Holmes. And he will definitely be " jealous". Hopefully Moffat and Gatiss can really develop their relationship into something more than friendship but not love.

I love Molly because she's the silent hero in the series. Shes the one woman and perhaps the only person who can slap Sherlock Holmes. Not just once but thrice. For me I loved that scene, sure it was a rapid development of a character, but it really shows that she's not the timid Molly anymore. At that point the crush has totally outgrown her and she's a woman who is madly in love with a man who truly does respect her.

Other than John, you mean? And Mycroft? And Mrs. Hudson (well, she rescued Irene's phone for him)? And Greg (hey, it isn't his fault Sherlock needed a speechwriter, not helicopters!)? And Archie (who rescued him from an unsolved mystery)?

This had never occurred to me before, but you could just about say that Sherlock is everybody's damsel in distress!

Dear Carol, we seem to be going around in ever-decreasing circles here, so repetition is bound to happen. Molly has already saved his life when it mattered the most, as he himself acknowledges!

As for rescuing Sherlock, well, everybody in this series does, but that lies with the sriptwriters, not the character. And it's not the other characters' fault if he has no brain-to-mouth filter and if he texts ambiguously, sulks like a three-year old (I have seen much better-behaved five-year olds), throws tantrums likewise and has nil empathy!  :D

Hey don't look at me, It's not my fault - I was written this way! angel.gif

Thinking about the cemetery scene again - I know the possibility of Moriarty's return was discussed ad nauseam and denied by the writers, but I recalled recently seen RDJ's version and the cemetery scene there - with a coffin with a body of someone else. Just saying... :D

Oh, yes, J.P.! It's not the character's fault if the creators actively infantilise one of the great forensic scientists in the crime genre!

As for the cemetery scene, they might all be gathered around Moriarty's coffin. That was the premise, also, in sfmpco's first Blackbird fan fiction. And it makes eminent good sense, if the whole "Miss me" gambit was an electronically engineered last-ditch attempt to save Sherlock from himself, their very first order of business would be to make sure that Moriarty's body lies where he was buried.

But if they keep Mary and the baby alive, it won't be Sherlock as he has been known for more than a hundred years!

It's already Sherlock as he's not been known before, so that's good news for Mary! :D
