That is perfect. Can I join you in the position? My mind can be quite twisted sometimes.

Supporting appearance by Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin. John & Archie sat together in a cafe and griping about their sleuthing friends :D

Meanwhile, Wolfe would be sitting in the Diogenes Club with Mycroft, busily not talking.

Not sure if this has been said but I wold to have a few more Sherlolly scenes in series 4. Also I agree on the Sherlock Mycroft thing. But something else is a Sherlock and baby Watson moment.

I totally agree, and I suspect there will be.  I am Sherlolly all the way, but most are opposed to him being in any relationship because that's just not canon.  Well, my response is that the show isn't canon to begin with nor does it claim to be nor does it try to be.  If Sherlock is to grow as a human being and open his heart, a natural outgrowth of that would be to dating of some sort or an attempt at something more intimate.  As his friendships grow stronger, and his maturity increases, so will his desires for other things.

I am not opposed to the idea of Sherlock and Molly as a couple on the grounds that it is not canon, but that it goes against my own personal concept of the character of Sherlock Holmes, and, to be completely honest here, because it would take focus away from the central relationship between Sherlock and John and I think that would be a pity even though I don't want them to get (even more... :P) romantically involved either. But I must admit that every single scene between Molly and Sherlock has been magic. When I first saw The Empty Hearse, I was very much underwhelmed and disappointed at first, and then came the little scene between them on the stairs in the Train Guy's house, and I held my breath and when it was over, I went whew, the show has still got it. Those two actors are so damn good individually, and I think they have amazing chemistry as Sherlock and Molly.

Arsene Lupin please. Need a suave villain and it will be a nod to the infamous match that succeed to make ACD angry

Same here ... sort of. I'm not even very familiar with canon, so it doesn't matter to me whether they follow it or not. I'm not even opposed to Sherlock being in a relationship. It's just that, for me, they haven't made the case yet that Sherlock and Molly are right for each other. And if they're not right for each other, then a romance between them would become a soap opera, which is not how I would like the show to go. And if they're suddenly, magically perfect for each other, it will seem forced to me.

That's not to say that either Sherlock or Molly won't grow in a direction that makes a romance between them believable someday. My contention all along has been, if that happens, they will no longer be the characters we first fell in love with. Which, again, I don't think would bother me, if done well ... but I suspect it would bother a large portion of the fandom. Many (most?) people like what is familiar and are resistant to change. Look how much bucking there is already over how "different" Sherlock is in S3. We have people who are already declaring they won't watch S4 as a result! (Can they really resist it, though?)

All I'm really saying is ... be careful what you wish for and remember the law of unintended consequences. :p

I'll let you in on a little secret: in my heart of hearts, I'd love for Molly - ordinary, down-to-earth, represents-the-audience Molly - to get the extraodinary, impossible, bamf man of her dreams. That's just before I remember that in any kind of male-centric melodrama, love = doom for the girlfriend....

They haven't? I'm not so sure about that. I think it's easy to be fooled by Molly's shy behavior. She's not unlike Sherlock, actually. That one day they had solving crimes together had me thinking hey, this could actually work!

The thing is, though, that they want different things from one another there. It starts with her going "dinner?" and him going "solve crimes". Molly I think would like a real boyfriend, a proper relationship, and Sherlock is just looking for a replacement for John. I don't think he's attracted to her the way he was to Irene Adler. My impression is that through the day, Sherlock figures out that John is not replaceable and Molly understands that she's just being used as a stand-in for somebody else, and, hurray for Molly, she is not willing to settle for that, even if it is with Sherlock Holmes.

I think there is a moment though where Sherlock realizes that Molly might have something of her own to offer him, and that he missed out on it and now there's Tom and her engagement ring and all he can do is step down and wish her well. It's going to be very, very interesting to see what happens between them next, now that the engagement is off. I have a feeling that it won't be Sherlock who isn't willing to give a kind of a romantic relationship a try (no matter how disastrous the results of such an experiment might be), but Molly whose judgment will prove stronger than her heart and who will resist him to protect herself. I'd like to see that happen, actually.

I don't think Molly is weak at all. A woman who has the self-worth to not settle for being a second choice even in the case of her one big crush is a rare thing and a strong character.

The above scenario might be an interesting turn of events... even though I am mostly against Sherlock going into (or even wanting to go into) a romantic relationship with anyone. I think it would make him too "soft" on the exterior - and while he definitely has a soft side underneath, I'd rather that it doesn't become too obvious. In series 3, it was already a bit much. Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if they take Molly's and Sherlock's relationship in the direction of something deeper, but I'm sure it will still be platonic.

My personal wish list for series 4 (will be fun to see if any of it comes true):

  • Plenty of casework
  • Sherlock at his sharpest and most arrogant self
  • John saves Sherlock's life
  • or Mary does (but preferably John)
  • or Molly does... but, still, I prefer it to be John
  • John makes a greater difference to the casework
  • We get a deeper look into Sherlock's connection with Lestrade
  • Just more Lestrade altogether
  • Molly and Lestrade get together
  • Sherlock reacts to Moriarty possibly being alive
  • but it's Moriarty's brother!
  • Mary and the baby are kept mostly in the background
  • Mycroft is in grave danger, and Sherlock gets him out of it

Another one:

  • Sherlock realises that Mycroft does love him. I think he starts to see it in series 3, but the writers could go further with this.

Does Sherlock really not think that Mycroft cares about him, though?  I feel like deep down he's gotta know.  I'd like to see Sherlock have to look out for Mycroft for once.  Return the favor, level the playing field between them a bit so it's less older brother watching out for little brother.

Right -- at this point in their lives, they're both accomplished professionals, and the canonical seven-year difference is a mere 15-20% of their ages.

I Just want to see "The Woman" in season 4, i imagine it would be like this:

- Mycroft missing

- Sherlock try to find him

- "The Woman" appear and tell Sherlock she have info about Mycroft where about

- in the whole episode we can see "The Woman" flirting with Sherlock...............ahhhhh :adler:

I think Sherlock still views Mycroft as the annoying older brother who always played the mother-role, acted as 'the smart one', and made Sherlock feel like he was an idiot. Oh, Sherlock may have learned since that Mycroft cares - and perhaps has taken on the big brother role to such an extent because he cares so much (and also because Mycroft, like Sherlock, likes to show off). It's a complicated relationship. I actually think Mycroft understands this better than Sherlock. He often reflects on their 'old scores, resentments' and their 'difficult relationship', and it seems to make him slightly uncomfortable, whereas Sherlock is just bitter. He doesn't seem - yet - to have any intention of letting go of that bitterness, and that's what I think the writers could start to change - and if not change it, then play with it even more!

I thought he was letting go of the bitterness a bit in S3? That whole bit in TEH with them playing games, Sherlock deducing that Mycroft maybe needs a companion, etc. ... then trying to convince him to come to the wedding in TSo3 ... revealing that they'd worked together to bring down Moriarty ... I thought that was Sherlock starting to let go of some of his resentment. Even in HLV, at Christmas, they're relatively in sync with each other. (I just love that sequence, btw. ) Anyway, their relationship was nicely nuanced in S3, as it was in Scandal, I thoroughly enjoyed their interactions.

I still think it's all something manipulated by Mycroft to keep his little brother in the country. After all, "Your loss would break my heart."

I almost hope this is true, because I'd like to see Sherlock and Mycroft spend season 4 trying to outwit each other! But if they revealed the truth in the first 2 minutes and that' it ... pffft. Then I think I might be disappointed that it's simply big brother to the rescue.

While I kind of refuse to believe that Mycroft would really send Sherlock to his certain death (it would not be believable considering how they've built up Mycroft's character and the brothers' relationship in the past), I really hope that this time, Mycroft will not turn out to be at the bottom of everything. It's getting kind of boring.

That is my main problem with Mycroft: He's too all-powerful, too omniscient and in control of everything and it over-simplifies the plots. They can write themselves into any kind of mess and all they have to do is make Mycroft wave his magic umbrella and everything can go back to normal.

I'd like the big brother to fade more into the background. Let him become involved in some big dull international affair or something that takes his attention elsewhere.

By the way... I wonder what they have done with him in the Victorian setting.
