I warn you now it is repulsive, there's a scene with a pig I keep grimacing about when it pops into my mind.

Poor BC, he had to make some awful things recently.

Still haven't watched the German …thing.

It seems to me like a long bad drug trip. Wonder how it feels to him.

Yes, having a look at TLOG was a hard test for my inner Mark fangirl. :P

I admit I quite like Gatis' vet though.

What German thing?

Alex watched SNL on tv, and says he thought some parts were kinda funny, though he agrees that the parts I saw were not. So I may watch the whole thing from the NBC website when I have the chance in a few days. (Hopefully I won't regret that decision *too* much.)

I did like BC's performance in the teacher/student skit. It was the most amusing, I thought. But it had the same problem that SNL has, imho, always had; their skits take one joke, beat it to death, then keep beating it until you wish you were dead. That's been their standard since it was created. Imho.

Chevy Chase was the only cast member who ever made me laugh. Paul Simon had some great moments, back when. That's about all I can come up with! :)

Really? Wow. For me, Dan Ackroyd, Jane Curtin, Gilda Radner, all of those originals, wow.

Gilda Radner could always make me laugh, and most of the other early cast members could frequently tickle my funny bone. I liked Chevy Chase a lot at first, but got tired of his humor after a while.

Well you all have pretty much summed it up for me. I watched and even though BC was good the show just reinforced why I've never been a fan of SNL. The humor is crude and most of the skits aren't funny. I will say on a very shallow note that I particularly liked BC's look in the professor skit. Really liked him in the glasses.

Nope, never liked any of them. Esp. Gilda, I never figured out why so many people thought she was so brilliant. Even Steve Martin didn't make me laugh. I can't explain it, I've always wondered why I was so out-of-step in that regard. Even my best friend found them funny. But not me.

Does anyone else like "Who's Line Is It Anyway?" Now that, I find funny. Go figure.

Same here! And I think that's probably the "Stuart: A Life Backwards" reference someone mentioned. I know that's the first thing I thought when he first appeared on screen in that skit.

I second what Arcadia said

Me!

I find that program really creative and they have mastered brilliant deadpans :)

Not sure, Besley. It was on as recently as last year, but I think this year may have been all repeats.

The professor part was actually outstanding acting-wise on BCs side and a bit funny at the beginning. I just forgot - what came after that reset my brain.

German thing is here

And no I'm not going to translate it. Actually I only heard about that show and don't watch it at all.

Can anyone tell me when abouts the professor bit is? I don't want to have to watch all of it, I'll just skip there and watch that bit :)

It starts around minute 13, Pseud. I agree with JP, he was good in it. Actually the ending made me laugh out loud.

Posted

It takes BC to make a sketch out of what was a whole Lewis episode, but there the repercussions were far-reaching!

Now that was funny. In a scary sort of way.

@JP's video: Definitely more creative than the SNL (watched until the strippers so I think I missed the professor one). I don't even know the host guy, thought it was a British show.

Anyway, Ben, should you ever run out of jobs, I have a lot for you. No pay but you can play with my dog.

James Corden is a Brit who jumped across the pond like several before him.

Benedict is mostly right about the voting. A scandal/voting fraud is still possible despite all/most registered voters getting out to vote. And people will claim it no matter who wins (and may even be correct in the claim for some voting districts).

But one has to assume that the results are generally accurate, a] because any shenanigans are probably cancelled out by other shenanigans, and b] because otherwise you'd go nuts.

That too

People who think shenanigans take place should volunteer to work the polls and get educated about the process.

Or you could be like the Trump supporter who decided to vote twice to counter "all the minorities who were voting twice", and got herself arrested.
