We are supposed to be broken-hearted because he's now "off the market", as one of those articles so delicately put it.

Does anybody seriously think about celebrities that way? As real potential partners? I mean, statistically, you're probably not less likely to meet and / or fall in love with someone famous as any other person on the planet, but still...

Nah. I'll save being broken-hearted for when they kill Sherlock for real. That would be the way to go if anybody wanted to see me cry.

There are people who do (not many hopefully).  They need help.

When Sherlock ends as a show then I will be broken-hearted as well.

Not too many, I'd say, but according to the media, all of us.....

Now, whose wishful thinking might be at work there? :P

I assume you're talking about the same media who think we all run around wearing deerstalkers?

More than likely it is that same group of media.

Sorry, some of us must have missed the memo when we joined The Empty Hearse club that Anderson started. ;):D:)

It says in the article that Ms. Hunter was in an episode of Midsomer Murders ... I just looked it up and don't actually remember it ... but maybe that's why I find her face familiar.  Now that I've given up on the Smart TV Wi-Fi thingie and have purchased a good HDMI cable, I'm streaming Acorn, so it should be easy to review it.

Oh right... I forgot for a moment that of course we're all more or less variants of this person:

According to Tumblr the Sherlock fandom is supposed to be filled with Sherlocks -- i.e. geniuses and passive-aggressive, emotionally stunted people.

Oh -- is that what I am?

Not sure about you Carol, but that almost describes me.  Not sure if I qualify as a genius, but do have a high IQ, definitely emotionally stunted, and possibly passive-aggressive (try to avoid conflicts even though I do get into them at times).

I'll cop to matching one third of that description.

I'm none of those things ... well, maybe one  .  Should I be looking for a new hero ?

Nah, you fit in here just fine. There are other characters on the show who don't fit that prototype that you would probably more align with in terms of characteristics.

I saw on FB that Benedict is supposed to be on The tonight Show on Monday night Nov 17. And U2 is also performing so wonder if his photo bomb of them from the oscars will come up again (or a re-enactment of it) :)

The official Tonight Show website confirms it (if you scroll to the right in the guest lineup at the top of the page) -- Monday the 17th at 11:35 (10:35 Central time) on NBC.

Y'know, that's one thing I've never understood -- is it 11:35 local time in the whole country except for the Central zone -- meaning that folks in the Mountain and Pacific Zones see it delayed an hour or two?  I kinda miss the Central zone -- we got hijacked into Eastern time a few years ago, which is asinine.

I feel for you. My brother went to college in Terre Haute and we would have to figure out when he was in central & when he was in eastern when we wanted to talk with him.
